Ok, so you guys may or may not remember that I was the guy that attempted (I think it's fairly solid) to make a guitar tab for "Warrior." I just wanted to let you know that I am currently trying to figure out "Ziltoid Goes Home," and I have only learned up to a little past the intro. Things are going along fairly quickly with this one, but do not expect a tablature of this song for at the very least a few days. It should be noted that I am primarily a rhythm guitarist and I do not solo, although I do like to practice solo techniques. I say this because I want you all to know that any time I make a tab I will likely not tab out the solo section of any given song. With that being said I hope you all are as excited to learn this song as much as I.

Anyway, this is what I have so far. Hope you guys enjoy what is here and I will complete this song in time. Sorry guys, this thing won't post correctly, so you will have a little deciphering to do. When I go to edit this post it does not show what is actually represented when this post is "published" in the actual forum. Did I word that alright? lol

Here are some things to remember while you read this; pay attention to the amount of hyphens between notes and such. This is not 100%, but it should give you a fair enough idea of how quickly you need to strum the notes and chords. Also, pretty much any time an open low C is strummed, by itself, it will likely be palm muted unless otherwise noted.

Ok, so I have continued on through the song and tabbed out a bunch more, but I also went through everything that I had tabbed out so far, and found some errors in what could be considered the heaviest riff of this song.

Also, since the formatting on the forums is not very tab friendly I would like to offer you guys a Microsoft Word document of the tab you can receive via email should you so choose. Anyway, once I consider the tab complete I will go ahead and post it as best I can here in the forums, and also give you my email so you can request the Word document if you want it.

Shit... what a hell of a ride that was guys. I poured probably about 9, 10 hours into this maybe more. The guitar tab for Ziltoid Goes Home is now what I would consider complete. It's good enough for me, and there were only two small sections of the song either did not tab at all (a keyboard solo) or I tried a little to tab something out of my comfort zone (a half-step descending lick).

If anyone would like me to email them a Microsoft Word Document of the Ziltoid Goes Home tab shoot me an email at, "shadowblade357@gmail.com" <-- gay I know, but I made that when I was like...15.

Also, pretty much any time an open low C is strummed, by itself, it will likely be palm muted unless otherwise noted. You should really read my notes, because there are some things I just did not tab out. Speaking of things I did not tab, there are a lot of pick scrapes/pick slides used in this song, but I felt like they were a bit boring so I have opted to include things that go perfectly well in line with the song but are a bit more entertaining to play.

Guit 1. Played x2 over guit. 2. That 11 is obviously strummed just as fast as the others, but didn't want people to get confused and think they were supposed to strum 8 times on the first fret.

G -6-----------5-6-----|--------2222--------------------------------------------
C -6-0-R-0-0-5-6-R--|-3333-------------------------------------------------

Guit. 1. Played x2. Here he gets a little tricky with the palm muted open C. For the record, this riff was such a pain in the ass to figure out. I have spent more time on this so far than I have trying to figure out the rest of the song.
E -------------------------------------------------------------------------
C -------------------------------------------------------------------------
G ----------------------------------------------------------------2222-----------------
C -6------------5/6---6------------5/6-----------------6-3333----------------------
G -6------------5/6---6------------5/6-----------------6--------2222-----------------
C -6-000-0-0-5/6-0-6-000-0-0-5/6-0-000-000-0-0-6-3333----------------------

Guit. 1. There is another 3333,2222 thing before this starts. These are 8th notes. So I have X8, X4, etc. each time you are strumming 8th notes in groups of 4. 4X8=the number of times you strum the 8,8,12 chord. Just listen to the song; you’ll know what I’m talking about Then for the following section the 4th & 6th frets are palm muted.
E -
C -
G -
C -12-|X8---8-|X4---10-|X3---6-|X1---12-|X8---5-|X4---6--|X4
G -8--|-------6-|------6--|-------6-|------8---|------6-| ------6-|
C -8--|-------6-|------6--|-------6-|------8---|------6-|-------6-|

This section, the single note 4th & 6th frets are palm muted.
E ------------|------------------|
C ------------|------------------|
G ------4_---|------------6_--|
C ------6_---|X8---------8_--|X eh…7? Probably
G -4-4-4_---|-------6-6-6_--|
C ------------|------------------|

Guit. 2. Does this up to that final 6, 6, 6 chord (the one done X4) up above. So you do this initial 13,13 octavized chord…FRAGMENT CHORD…that’s what these are called (just remembered), to get you in, and then it is a triplet feel. The octave changes will basically begin on the last note of your triplets. This section is done twice through.
E -------------------|------------------------|-------------------------|
C -------------------|------------------------|-------------------------|
G -13--13-13-13-|------11--11-11-11-|-------15--15-15-15-|
C -------------------|X8---------------------|X4---------------------|X3, Then back to 13 & 13.
G -13--13-13-13-|------11--11-11-11-|-------15--15-15-15-|

Guit. 2. 1/2 Plays this during Guit. 1’s long notes. Pretty standard two string sweeps.

Guit. 2. 2/2 Both parts of these two string sweeps are played twice.

G -11-----------------------11----------------------------11-14p11-14p11-----11-14p11-14p11-
C ------------------------------------------------------14------------------------14----------------

Guit. 1. 2nd fret is palm muted.

C ----------------------------------------------------------------2_---------------------
G --------------3_-------------4_--------------5_----------------------------------
C -2-2-2-2-2-----2-2-2-2-2-----2-2-2-2-2-----2-2-2-2-2------------------------

Guit. 1. Only palm mute the rapid notes.
E -------------------------------------------------------------------------
C -------------------------------------------------------------------------
G -------------------------------------------------------------------------

G -----------------------------------------------------------------1111111--------------------
C -2222222-3-4-5_-2222222-4-3-2_-2222222-3-4-5_----------------------------

Guit. 1. Meh, I know I could have written this out differently, but I just finished it so…I’ll just leave it as is. Anyway at this point you should be just over 3 minutes into the song, and after this little section you do basically all the patterns listed above over again.
E -------------------------------------------|-----------------------------------------------------------|
C ------------------------------------------|------------------------------------------------------------|
G -1__-1_-1_--------333333222222-|--------------333333222222--------------------------|

G -1__-1_-1_-2___---------------------|-------2___---------------------2___-2___-----------|
C ---------------2___---------------------|-------2___---------------------2___-2___-----------|

Guit. 2. The next time you come to the section where you strum those 8th note pretty chords that start exactly at 4:12, you do this stuff. The timing on getting into this can be a bit tricky. Additionally, you remember those three different fragment chord from earlier? Those are played over this as well only they go from 13 to 15 to 11. I have concluded 1 of 2 things, this section is just part of the backing track because both Devin and Dave did not do anything like this during live shows, or this is performed on the keyboard. In any event I still think this is a fun little thing to do during this section, sounds cool enough, and fits in with the song. Pretty sure the keyboard has a crazy solo toward the end of this part, I am not tabbing that.
E -16--------------------------------| -16-------------|-----------------------|
C --------15-13-12-----------------| -----------------|------13-12-10-----|
G --------------------13-------------| -----------------|-------------------13-|
C ----15-----------------15-12-----| ----15-13-12-|X8--------------------|X8
G --------------------------------13-| -----------------|-----------------------|
C ------------------------------------| -----------------|------------------------|

Guit. 1. At 4:34 exactly do this. Strum these chords 8th note style; again counting groups of 4… you know what, I’ll just tab it out I got plenty of space.
E ------------------|-------------------------|
C ------------------|-------------------------|
G ------------------|-------------------------|
C -11-11-11-11-|X9 ----13-13-13-13-|X10 on tenth let ring~

Guit. 2. 1/2 Plays this during Guit. 1’s long notes. Pretty standard two string sweeps.
E -------------------------------------------------------------------------
C -----12-15p12-15p12-----12-15p12-15p12----12-15p12-15p12-----12-15p12-15p12-

C ------------------------------------------------------14-----------------------14----------------
G -------------------------------------------------------------------------
C -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guit. 2’s tags at the end of each of Guit. 1’s pretty fragment chord progressions. Keep in mind you are still doing the two string sweeps to get to these. Eh you probably know.
E ---------|--------------------|-------------------|-------------------|-------14---------|

Really sorry about the poor quality, but my only form of recording this kind of thing for youtube is my phone. Anyway, this should give you a good idea of how it's supposed to go with the main part of the song for guitar. I'll probably upload a second video going for the second guitar's parts. Anyway, I screw up several times but eh, this is supposed to be used to help you learn. Also, I just noticed this and have fixed the tab, but for that opening riff I am supposed to slide up to the fragment 11.
