I've been working on getting a decent Dev tone with my rig for a while now, and I think I'm satisfied at this point (...well, for now). Some online buddies of mine asked me to do a demo, so I obliged. I figured I should share it with the community here as well, so here you go. I've been told by a couple people its most likened to the Synchestra era tone, if anything.

(complete with incorrect notes and mistakes!)

Gear used:
Some "Kansas" guitar that I got for cheap. No idea who made it, but it looks cool and plays well with open tunings. (Tuned in Open C here)
MXR Dime Distortion used as a boost and an EQ. On its own, its a really awful, overpriced distortion pedal. Used as a boost/EQ its quite useful.
Peavey XXX 2x12 combo amp on the Ultra channel.
Digitech DigiDelay on the tape echo simulator setting
Some extra ambient reverb on the Phonic mixer I use.
Recorded with an MXL V250 condenser mic.
