That's the easiest part of the whole song.
Once again 'Archetype'..i must reiterate and thank you for your humble apology on here the other day...it was much appreciated and goes to show that u really are a classy, considerate dood! :D I know the tab wasn't FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC...but i also am appreciative that some people found it useful :D

I wholeheartedly agree Geoff. It would be like you sharing some designs, or Omer sharing some photos for people..out of the goodness of your hearts...and having people criticise or abuse you because your skills are not up to their standards :( That is why i am appreciative of the people on here that found my tab useful :D

Hey man, it was useful, because I'm playing the song live with a band in two weeks, so it helped me figure out the chords for the synth-player, so many thanks to that.
I could already play the intro part, but this was a nice way to see how other people hear the intro.
No tab is ever fantastic, only the ones written by the artists themselves. Tabs are made by fans, purely so that people can play the songs with their band, or alone on their room, or wherever. As long as it sounds good, who cares what the exact voicings are. .. The tab book is coming, so then we'll know.

:D Your rock man...i agree with your perceptions. Even tab books aren't right bro..have u seen some of the Metallica ones? hehe. Dream Theater ones are trustworthy because John Petrucci does most of them. I have also done an accurate and revised version of Earth Day...complete with guitar, bass and keys...but i wont post tabs here because the critics are aplenty...so just pm me if u guys out there care to see it?

Hhaha..the power of persuasion! Ok...i guess you are right Geoff. The more we post them and help to refine them as a group...the better for all of us :D I agree...GOOD CRITICS are welcome...but people who come on and make a post saying 'that was WAAY wrong, and inaccurate, and crap', dont appear to be doing anything constructive or helpful. I guess a lot of it has to do with tact, consideration for others' feelings, and acknowledging that people have taken the time out of their day to have a go at something to help others out... :D

I think Archetype meant the tab book that Devin once announced to start creating. I guess if he'll ever come around to finishing that, you'd have a correct tab book :)

Anyway, I'd be pretty interested to see your new version... As for non-constructive critics, all I can really say is just ignore them... If they don't have anything useful to say, there's no point of wasting any energy on replying to them. Just use that energy to work together with the "good critics" that have constructive criticism to make your tab even better.

Bump this thread. I thought I would contribute a few parts that I think are close to accurate.

At the "Eat Your Beets" part, listen closely to the song, and the guitar (not sure if there are more guitars than this) is playing this variation on the opening riff:

------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------7--------------------------------
-------------8------5-----------------8-------------------------
0-----8------------------------------------------------------ x2

And the same for "Recycle" except...

------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------7--------------------------------
-------------6------5-----------------8-------------------------
0-----8------------------------------------------------------ x2

And for the "Man Overboard" part, I believe its just

------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
3---------------------------5--------------------------------
3---------------------------5-------------------------------
3---------------------------5--------------------------------
3---------------------------5-------------------------------- repeat x whatever

"Fuck it...I really don't care"

------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
5--------------8--------------2----------------------------
5--------------8--------------2------------------------------
5--------------8--------------2-----------------------------
5--------------8--------------2------------------------------

That's all I got for now.

I need to figure out the part where he's saying "peace...love....joy" etc. And the "It's your birthday" part...which I think is the hardest part of the song.

But I'm almost positive the ones I posted there are correct.

I'm not any good at all when it comes to tabbing anything (been playing for about a year), but I think I got some of the song to sound right in standard EADGBE tuning.

DISCLAIMER: THIS TAB IS NOT USEFUL IN THE LEAST BIT IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IN DEVIN'S TUNING. IT IS FOR LAZY PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO DON'T FEEL LIKE/KNOW HOW TO DOWNTUNE.
