Yeah, I suggested it on the 'sincere effort' post.
I think it's a great idea, but there are just a few things;
*The musicians on this forum are kinda spread out over the world
*I can imagine most people don't have the equipment nor money for decent sounding recordings.
*... and more will follow

So, for all the musicians out there, and people who have ideas or want to support the tribute-cd, please come up with ideas, questions, comments, marriage proposals, etc, etc, right here in this topic.

And webmasters, if this topic could be made sticky, that'd be awesome.

I'd be more than happy to contribute if it were to go ahead :)

Its possible!!
Given the technology we have today, anyone could do this.

All anyone would need is cool edit or any sound recording software. Even if its a rough cut, I'm sure most of us will be able to work with it. As long as one main person is in charge of mixing or whatnot.

Also, anyone is Australia is welcomed to come and hang out in Sydney with me to do this. I can organise the studio and recording time as well. You can crash at mine too.

Hmm, what song would I want to play???

BASS!

We need someone in charge of the main audio engineering.

Once we've decided who's playing, we'll then decide which song. Then its just a matter of playing to the beat and mixing it in.

The real question is, who's doin vocals? I wish I could put my hand up for that one but when my mouth opens, it is much reminiscent of wet farting ass.

also, no point limiting it to 4 or 5 people

If anyone else wants in but the spot is filled, just do another song!

Let's start with one first.

I can do bass or guitar as required....though I'd suggest looking for someone better above me :)

I can play guitar, but I'm too much of a novice to make anything beautiful...
