I love to sing. Devin is my favorite artist. So I thought I'd do some covers. They aren't perfect, but then again, I am not a perfect singer.

Thats a pretty bold song to cover! You did an admirable job on an incredibly demanding song. Need to work on your accentuations and keeping with the rhythm and flow of the song (mostly noticed this in the choruses). It seems that you didn't have the song memorized completely and that would also help a lot. The end especially, "And I'm wasting time on daylight I'm sorrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!"
Keep up the good work though, you've got some power in those pipes.

thanks for posting these videos. yet, you should practice a bit more before you present something. you have good scale, interesting timbre but you need to focus more on notes. too many false notes for me.
i am bass/baritone and i could kick your ass to get your range
 PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Thanks for the feedback man. I would agree with you on the need for practice! I am looking into a vocal teacher.
Take these with a grain of salt because
A) They are all first takes, not multiple takes until I get the best one
B) I cannot hear my own voice since the speakers are in front and I have no monitor.

Id love to see someone attempt Kingdom. But your vocals are fairly awesome, I wish i could sing half as good. There are a few spots where there could be a bit more.... oomphh ...(effort) put in, but I think for singing devin songs, what you have done is awesome.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback bro.

Storm was fairly awesome, especially the high i guess falsetto cleans at the end, in between the screams, and as you dont seem like you have a devy scream, you did fairly well with what you had. (Y) (Y)
If I had a mic i'd record a few myself, but I dont. Also, how did you teach yourself? Just singing songs?

Yeah Dev's scream I find VERY hard to replicate. I can do most others though.
I've just been singing all my life. I was in a high school chorus class, but that didn't teach me anything. I grew up in a family where my father, mother, and brother were ALWAYS singing in the house. So naturally I'd join, imitate, and above all, experiment. With both cleans and screams, experimenting has done the most for me.

				I enjoyed the vids.
Keep that chest out when singing. Loosen up a bit more.
I would also highly recommend vocal lessons. Like you, I taught myself to sing. After a few vocal lessons I was able to learn the true nature (of my reality!) of my range. It seems like a lame thing, but if you really want to use your voice for something, vocal lessons couldn't hurt.
But you have a great voice, and a lot of potential!
