				hey mate,
theres some nice big ones, drumkit from hell, BFD kits, and many smaller ones also; these big ones sound like proper kits, proper samples etc. and plenty of patterns / time signature etc. and if ur any good with midi, can also easily modify templates
Aside from that, smaller VST drum machines available, but to many to name; most of which (unless ur downloading really old ones) are usable through programs such as cubase, ableton - avoid logic on win, old stuff. You could also get into Reason, or have a look at the Native Instruments stuff, such as Battery, these are also easily played via midi-controller pads, or simple QWERTY or midi keyboards.
hope it kinda helps?
Nick

				Ya like Delirium says...
I use Cubase 5 with Toontrack's Superior Drummer 2.0 plugin.. it works flawlessly. They have alot of different kits based on your style. DrumKit from Hell (Devin uses that for Ziltoid) and The Metal Foundry are awesome metal kits. You can play these kits with an electronic set too, for the human touch.. But if your like me and you can't play drums, stick with midi. Alot of times is just export drum tracks from a Guitar Pro Tab and import them into Cubase.
Have fun dude.

This is possible? I'd better stop wasting time trying to program drums in Cubase then...

Yes sir it is! Thats pretty much what I said.. I have no background in drumming so I spent a lot of time finding the easy way out.
I wonder if there a place to get midi drum patterns on the web that don't suck..? Any takers?

Are you insane? Cubase is only about 10 billion times easier

I'm really unfamiliar with the Cubase drum editor. Guitar Pro on the other hand I've been using for years.

Whatever "charges" you paid, you paid them to different people/organizations than that would get your money if you buy music or software.
