What? How do you manage to make that work?! :D I only tune to B, use thick strings, and still feel it doesn't sound quite as tight as I'd like.

I guess it's up to personal taste. Shining use a standard .049 on their B string. I had to get a baritone to get comfortable tuning down.

I'm using Ernie Ball single strings:
G - 0.072
D - 0.054
A - 0.042
E - 0.030
B - 0.015
F# - 0.009

I had to bore out the tuner (and file the nut) in a couple of my guitars (The Schecter and Warmoth Tele while on the MIM Tele the low G string went right through the tuner).

I filed the nut and am using a 0.062 for the B in 25.5". It's ok, but I've been considering switching to a baritone, or maybe a long-scale 7-string, like the 26.5" ones Schecter makes. The guitarist in my other band does tune to G too, but his sound is a bit muddy anyway :D

Anyway, your tuning is quite extreme. You have my respect for going with something like that and sticking to it :)

Most of my stuff has been packed away in storage, or sold recently. What I have left is:

EVH Ernie Ball/Music Man guitar, translucent blue
Charvel 625 C-12 acoustic/electric 12-string, black.
Fernandes Nomad Deluxe guitar, American Flag design
Crate GFX-15 practice amp
Peavey 5150 head
Mesa Boogie 4x12 cabinet
Yamaha GEP-50 effects processor
Lexicon Alex effects processor
Dunlop Original Crybaby Wah
Nady Encore 200 wireless (which I never used)
Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky strings

When I was first learning how to play guitar I bought one of every style pick the guitar store had. Since then, I'll pretty much use anything because I learned to use everything. lol

With cords, I usually just buy what is cheapest. I'm still using cords I bought back in 1989.

I've never been a slave to effects. Just a guitar and some distortion is all I need, but will use a little delay and reverb at times for the hell of it.

Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass
Fender MIJ fretless Jazz (ca. 1985)
Yamaha BBN4 III (first bass)
Ibanez BTB 405 (trying to get rid of this one)

Evidently, I'm a bassplayer mainly.

Just got a bunch of recording gear:
003 Rack (Pro Tools 9)
Presonus Digimax LT 8-channel preamp
Presonus Eureka
Behringer Headphone Amp
Monster Power Conditioner
Mackie MR-8 Monitors

Microphones:
Blue Kiwi
Rode NT5's
Beta 57
4 sm57's
4 Sennheiser e604's
AKG D-112

Now, my various music projects write and rehearse through pro tools with headphones on. We can hear everything perfectly (in up to 6 mixes) and everything is recorded. It's pure bliss, compared to jacking up a PA really effing loud. :guitar:
