Hey guys...

We know Bastard is in a weird B tuning on some sort, do you know what it is? Apparently you have played this at some point on your tour? It's pretty cool that you would do so obscure a song. You should pull out "Dynamics" or "Voices in the Fan" heh...

Thank you much! I thought it was a bit weird that this song was supposed to have been played live, but someone said that you had, so... But thanks again!

Some time back Devin said that not even he exactly remembers
what tuning he used on "Bastard". Anyway, B F# B F# B D# worked
fine for me when I learned the song, listening to Biomech, some
years ago. I guess Dev tuned down half a step on this one cause
the vocal lines were too high in CGCGCE, even for him.
Damn, I can not even manage them when I tune down to A!

By the way...who says your tabs have to be 100& correct? If it works
for you and sounds close (or exactly the same) that's fine, even if the
original song was played slightly different.

Ok I asked Devin about it today and he said he actually didnt remember what the tuning was. He did say that the first note starts on the 10th fret if that helps at all. Sorry I couldnt be more help.

I just tune standard B tuning when I play it: BEADF#B

first note: 8th fret, 4th string

then when the drums kick in, power chord at 4th fret, 6th string intersperced with the same 8th fret, 4th string note, bending when necessary

follow this with power chord at the open fret, 6th string (low B) intersperced with note at 3rd fret, 3rd string, again bending when necessary

Hope that helps

I use the Open B tuning Dev used for Ki & Addicted to play Bastard. Works well.
