Apologies!
I interrupt your incredibly Dutch thread, in English no less - to ask a silly question.
What are the titles of typical Dutch language television programmes and am I likely to find them (with English subtitles) on Youtube?

xx

Err, I'm not sure we subtitle things in English ever. Commonly it's the other way around where we subtitle English programmes in Dutch. Are you looking for anything in particular (like comedy, drama, documentaries)?

I have never seen an English subbed Dutch television show. You could try the movie 'Zwartboek' (Black book) by Paul Verhoeven. Or maybe 'De lift' by Dick Maas...

No genre in particular, anything to help with my appalling pronunciation...
Yeah, I found Star Trek: Voyager with Dutch subs :D But that only helps so much.

0:33 [Narrator] - Harry had rarely ever prepared an interview as well as the one with Eddie and Alex van Halen.
0:39 [Narrator] - Listened to 12 hard rock albums, read 20 Rolling Stones, Hit his head on the stage 30 times, this was going to be the big van Halen interview that would put shame on all the other van Halen interviews.
0:55 [Narrator] - Van Halen is the best. The band sells 5.5 million albums a year. Harry was a little early, so he had to wait for a bit.
1:10 [Harry] - Alright, gentlemen van Halen. I'll call you van Halen [pronounced the Dutch way], okay?
1:14 [Alex] - Yeah.
1:15 [Harry] - They call you Van Halen [Pronounced the English way] here, but...
1:16 [Eddie] - In Holland, van Halen [Dutch].
1:18 [Harry] - It's van Halen [Dutch], right? Alex and Eddie [Dutch], right? And now it's Alex and... Alex and Eddie [English]?
1:26 [Eddie] - And Harry! [English]
1:29 [Alex] - And Harry just stays Harry[This line might be wrong, I can't make out what he's saying well enough.]
1:30 [Eddie] - It's the same.
1:32 [Harry] - How long has it been since you left The Netherlands?
1:35 [Alex] - In '62.
1:37 [Eddie] - In March '63 we arrived here, so 28 years ago.
1:40 [Harry] - 28 years? 27 years?
1:43 [Alex] - '62.
1:44 [Harry] - Amazing. So you actually... The Netherlands, what does that mean to you?
1:55 [Eddie] - I think it's a beautiful country. Yeah. It's five years ago since I last visited, and it's beautiful.
2:03 [Harry] - So you do like it?
2:04 [Eddie] - Oh, yeah.
2:05 [Harry] - What do you think is truly Dutch?
2:07 [Alex] - Rollmops. [Pickled herring]
2:09 [Eddie] - Accross from Het Concertgebouw [Name of a Dutch venue in Amsterdam, the name translates to The Concert Building], there's a stand, you know?
2:13 [Harry] - Yeah, with herring and stuff.
2:15 [Eddie] - Oh, delicious.
2:16 [Harry] - That's truly Dutch to you?
2:17 [Eddie] - Oh, yeah.
2:18 [Harry] - And what else? When you think of The Netherlands, when you think of Holland?
2:23 [Alex] - Kroketjes. [Dutch croquettes]
2:25 [Harry] - Kroketjes, too?
2:27 [Alex] - Yeah, you must not forget what we remember from when we were young. I was 8 years old when we moved to the US, so I remember kroketjes and rollmops.
2:41 [Harry] - And rollmops? That's it?
2:43 [Alex] - And Pipo de Clown! [Dutch TV series, aired 1958-1980]
2:43 [Harry] - Pipo de Clown!
2:47 [Henk] - This was the third episode--
2:48 [Harry] - Well, it is on Van Halen's album - Tulips from Amsterdam.
2:51 [Henk] - I'm trying to do the outro here.
2:52 [Harry] - Go on then.
2:54 [Henk] - This was the third episode of Die2 Speciaal, next week we'll be here again. Same time, same TV station.
3:00 [Harry] - Hey, Henk.
3:00 [Henk] - What do you want? I'm trying to do the outro.
3:03 [Harry] - Ask my wife if she knows that someone's coming over on Thursday.
3:07 [Henk] - No way, I'm no messenger.
3:10 [Harry] - Just tell her, I forgot to tell her.
3:11 [Henk] - Do it yourself.
3:13 [Harry] - He'll be over on Thursday.

You're welcome :D
