Deadhead only because it has some of Devin's best vocals (IMO). Away would definitely take the cake if it were a song with vocals, and believe me I'm glad it doesn't because I love it how it is, but for me a perfect song has to have at least a little of everything.

I think it's pretty obvious which one was going to win from the start. Instrumentals almost never win out over traditional songs with vocals/lyrics. I did say ALMOST, because if Unity went up against, say, Colonnial Boy, Unity should win as it is by far the superior song. (And before someone gives me any crap, yes, I know there are vocals in Unity, but it's mostly for atmospheric effect, not the focal point.)

The vocals alone are awesome.

I would have to say Away, mainly because of that sad breakdown-like part in the middle. Not many songs bring me so close to welling up like Away, I tell you guys.

deadhead rules, the whole album rules. Devs best vocals on an album i reckon. I also think the foo fighters have tried (without any sucess imho) to mimic some of the early tunes on the record.

I guess since Deadhead is in my Top's list I will go with that but of late Away is blowing my socks off these size 15 feet!

It depends on my moom. I can and have slept to Away, while Deadhead is probably more compelling if relaxation factor doesn't matter at the moment, and um, I think what Devin stuff I prefer jumps around as much as what other bands I'm listening to, he's so varried. I voted Away because I wouldn't mind sleeping right now..

This is instantly the most unanswerable poll I've ever not taken...

Basically, playing "Away" is more fun than playing "Deadhead", but if I can get a band behind me to cover it, I prefer to just screech along to "Deadhead" because the lyrics remind me of someone that I want to screech at. :chain:

O'erall, I'd still rank them even, though.

must be deadhead, an all-time classic and a live must-see. the version on the Safezone DVD is incomparable to anything else.. too good to be true, I love it. this not-from-this-world emotion from Dev gives me shivers everytime I see it.
