Wine glasses in Olives and Mountain

In Olives at 1:00 you hear a toast, two glasses of wine being 'smashed' ( :P ) against eachother.
In Mountain at 4:09 you hear a glass break on the ground or something. Is this a wine glass also heard in Olives?
If yes, what's the meaning of it? :)

Stop making Devin seem like some kind of god that has a meaning for everything that he does...

I'm not saying there must be a meaning because it's Devin, I'm just asking if there is a meaning at all.

If you'd ask Devin personally, my bet is he'd say "It just sounded cool". As always.

It means that some people were drinking wine.

Hmm. You just rocked the very foundations of this thread, but I think you could be right

This is going nowhere...

Let's keep on to the thread:

I think the toast and the breaking glass are not linked. The glass breaking in Mountain sounds far more heavy than the sound you'll hear when you just drop a tiny wineglass onto the ground.

From interviews I've read and stuff it seems like Dev is both deliberate and spontaneous so, who knows if it means anything...

Aren't there glass-breaking sounds all over his works? Isn't that one at the beginning of "SYL", for example?

I really doubt theres a connection, but an interesting thought. The glass breaking in Mountain seems a lot heavier than a martini glass. I really think he did it because it sounds cool. The reason I think that is because it does.

I think he does it because it sounds... "Smashing"?

The bit in Mountain sounds much more crunchy to me, like it's from a car crash or something. There's an audible thump in addition to the glass breaking. I suppose it could be the dude from Olives hitting the floor, but then we're heading into pure conjecture!

Seeing as olives are in martinis, I would've thought that was obvious.

I KNOW!
The Olives guy was glassed by Dev!
