That's a great description. Like a trippy neon star destroyer firing out the ass of some black hole, and pumping the tunes from it's front-mounted, 50 foot tall speakers. That's Namaste all day.

Nailed.

Maybe he could re-record the album in 06?

Sort of like what Dimmu did with Stormblast, only better.

Well, as Tracy said somewhere else (I looked but I can't find it) that once Devin records something he's done with it and moves on. So, I think it would be safe to say that it's impossible and that Devin would never re-record the album.

Or, I could just fuck off (have to keep trying it out, y'know).

She mentioned it in the thread about Ocean Machines, when some greedy fellas (including me) were talking about re-recording this song.

Dev once was talking about doing a new mix of Physicist - another topic which had led to some discussions on the forums - but that's something totally different than re-recording the whole goddamn thing, and I just don't see him doing it, no way. Rehearsing, recording in the studio, mixing... That would take months, which someone highly creative as Devin should use for writing new music. So a second "impossible" from my side.

But I still hope for some Physicist live tracks in the future...

hahaha, that quote always sticks in my head!

Puh-lease!! That's the worst cliché ever to come from rock stars. Spinal Tap would have been proud!

There's always something that Devy's music has always done to me.
Its always made me ignore others opinions, and not care what anyone else thinks, and makes me proud to be me... and Physicist is definatly the Icing on the cake. It has a sound like nothing else. But yeah, I've seen the Devy interviews and I'll go with what Blazin' Monga said.

If anybody had been Youtube around Jan-Feb time they will have seen my cringing video's on 'Life' & 'Material' Lol .. shows I have no shame.

Ditto. Have Linkin Park ever come out with anything other than predictable inoffensive nonsense?

Dev said in an interview he thinks Physicist is SHITTY. There you have it, its his opinion.

I think its the fucking baws! Its one of my favourite Devy albums, although i could say that about all of em.

I just completed my devy collection by getting physicist and I'm loving it. especially the chorus in Material. Yesterday was a day exactly like that. a free day, with some sunshine, nothing to do, so I'm just standing on my balcony, looking at the city and listening...

Ah, these are the days
Let them roll as they roll
And be all you are
Because you're beautiful
Material
Hear that truth again!

I cried :)

and the chorus of Kingdom is killer too

now to go randomly back on topic again, I personally find a lack of warmth that's on this cd compared with the others. the instrumental onslaught of dev and hoglan overpower the beautiful backgrounds that dev creates a lot of the time, as well as the backgrounds not being as soft as on most of the albums. maybe dev's intention was to create a warmer version of syl, but it didn't quite turn out that way? not that this lacks from the cd in any way. I mean the cd is incredible and it thrashes out with glory and wonder in every microsecond of it's playing, I just think that it's probably being viewed by us in not quite the same way dev wanted us to view it? then again I could be saying a load of crap really xD.

I know what you mean as far as Physicist feeling 'cold'. It has very warm melodies, but the production is very mechanical and, well, cold. It's an interesting way of doing things, and some may regard it as a flaw... But I think it's an inextricable piece of the album's sound.

well I don't view it as a flaw, I just think dev might view it as a flaw?. I mean trying to bring syl and his own stuff together might not be possible. syl is so far away from his personal work. then again, it might be the actual production as you said rather than his writing. bah, I feel shamed as to doubt his writing skills, well that's another forty strokes of the whip for me :(
