I'm sure this was discussed 12 years ago, but I just saw a movie called "The Quiet Man", from 1952. A couple of the characters were singing a song, and all of the sudden I heard them sing the words "Wild Colonial Boy" with the exact same melody as DT's Colonial Boy song.

Here are the lyrics:

The rest of the lyrics aren't the same, but I'm pretty sure this song influenced the DT song.

So, Mr. Townsend, is this what influenced your song? What made you decide to use that one line and write a whole new song around it?

I always thought it was based on this, because it has the exact same melody:

Just kidding.

That's the same song, but performed differently. In the movie, the line is the exact same melody as DT's song.

Devin, can we get a comment on this?

Perhaps I'd have to post it in the main forum to get his attention on it.

Interesting. Wasn't it so that Infinity was greatly influenced by musicals etc. according to Devin himself? In that case it could be that he saw this movie of course. Or else it's a big coincidence hehe.

PS Great avatar Mikal!
