I have four cats living with me currently. In addition to Niko there's (in order of age):
Annabelle (named Sabrina for 1.5 years but responded to Annabelle the first night)
We weren't going to get a cat. My fiancee was a dog person and it was tricky enough sharing a studio apartment between two people four nights a week without juggling a litter box. Then a mouse moved in and any calls to the building super about dealing with it except "either pay for an exterinator or make us exempt from the no-pets policy" were ignored.
Gus (originally Leroy)
Annabelle worked out so well that we decided to pay "strictly social" visits to shelters. The first time we could squeeze one in, this kitten kept calling my fiancee back over to pet him. She resisted as two cats in a studio couldn't possibly work so he threw a piece of food at her back. Shortly afterwards, I found out it was possible to fit multiple bowls bearing both cat and kitten food as well as another litter box in a studio apartment.
Gwynnevere
This one had it rough early on. Some rather dense people never spayed their female, wound up with a litter, and declared everyone weened entirely too early. At the time, we were preparing to return Annabelle to the shelter because she had grown aggressive towards my fiancee and was urinating on everything in sight. We wound up not having to do that because she took in Gwynn as her own and adjusted her behavior fairly quickly. Of course, Gwynnevere decided I was mommy fairly early on and still tries nursing on my neck close to a year later.
