I'll try to memorize every last crevace of Devin's music that I have yet to memorize from ALL of his stuff. After that I'll learn to play all of them on bass, then I'll get back to that Dead Goon bassline. That should have me occupied for long enough.

1. Chew on my fingernails frenetically (I'm at my knuckles by now).

2. Listen through all Devs work with headphones so I can compare it when Synchestra arrives.

3. Lock myself in a dark room, chant "must find happy place"

I'll be working at night for the next week, which kind of takes me out of the loop. Studying for exams in January. Going through all my CDs and giving the ones I've not listened to much a decent chance. Reading.

You guys are loonies. I have no trouble waiting. I kinda hardened up when I had to wait MONTHS for Alien to arrive here in Slovenia (got it on June 2nd to be precise). It might happen again so I refuse to be a nervous wreck. It will come and I will enjoy my very first listen when all you guys will already be dully immersed in it. I also discovered that reading reviews don't mean shit to me because I will - as always - hear totally different stuff.

What amazes me here is some peeps' impatience and narcissism topped with ignorance. Wanting it "now" is the bottom line. To them, Synchestra is a fucking prey, a loot. "I want it!" "Where is it!" "Fuck, I can't see it yet!" "I can't wait to get my hands on it!" This attitude doesn't thrive on love for music, as some would love to think. Love for music is just an excuse here, cloaking cold selfish pragmatism.

Downloading it "but" buying it when it is released just proves people happy customers. "You'll get my money for sure, no question about it, it goes without saying. Eventually."

Downloader: "I can't wait for Synchestra."
Goat: "Yeah."
D: "It's not leaked yet, I'm sure it will soon."
G: "Dev asked not to download."
D: "Yeah I know, but I am weak, I couldn't wait until official release."
G: "What are you babbling about, it's only a month or so away."
D: "I know dude, but I LOOOVE his music SOOOOO much I just can't wait, y'know, I NEEEEEED it like NOOOOOW."
G: "Then go and write an EMO song about it to keep you busy, S hole."
D: "BULLSHIAT! BULLSHIAT! Whatever! Whatever! "

D: "I got Synchestra. It's great."
G: "Shut up. It's not out yet."
D: "What? I have it!"
G: "The leak."
D: "Damn right the leak. I'll buy it of course when it comes out."
G: "Dude you have something you are not supposed to have. It is really simple. You don't have Synchestra because it is not out yet. What you have is some guy's 'fuck you' to the artist you were supposed to support."
D: "Fuck, you are ether stupid or terribly naive."
G: "Yes, I'm so naive it's downright stupid."

D:G=2:0

I'm glad though I'm not the only one who's out of date.

Elsewhere, by coincidence, I wrote:The thing that's made me mention this now is that it's getting silly on here with people declaring themselves either "weak" and apologetic, or somehow holier than thou because they're waiting. Do we really need either post on here ? I mean, people posting every day how they "made it through another 24hours" - for pitys sake this isn't AA or the like ! It does neither section any favours, apart from maybe winding up other fans into wanting to hear it, and thus becomes counter-productive.

Actually 30 days isn't feeling that long at the moment......

I've also been trying to get into some new bands to take my mind off the wait. I had been listening to tons of Dev's older stuff the last few months but whenever I hear terria or ocean machine it just makes me want synchestra more. I even had a dream about what it was gonna sound like, heh.

so how are you the rest of you faithful few planning to get through the next month or so?

I'm going to listen to my downloaded version A LOT!! And when I buy the original I will have the same feeling of excitement as if I'd never heard it before.

the best liars are better at lying to themselves.... you wont enjoy it as much... i feel so sorry for you naive ppl

I have a problem.
Devin is the only artist whose music I like at the moment.
It's difficult for me to find REALLY good artists.
Any suggestions? Anyone know any bands a Dev/SYL fan could like?

I'm going to pass the time before Synchestra by:

1) Enjoying Christmas
2) Listening to the four CDs I got for Christmas
3) Revising for my exams at the end of January (Boo!)

The good thing is that Synchestra comes out three days after my last exam, so it'll be a welcome reward and a superb way to relax!
