This is a volatile enough thread without people running around starting fires...

The bands that i care enough about to get really excited over imminent releases i also respect too much to downloads songs if they get leaked. I wouldn't care if it was, say, a linkin park track (not that i would!) but i would never do it for devin or the wildhearts, because it feels like i'm stealing from them.

For fans of both The Wildhearts and Devin, every release is purchased whether they download it or not - fans of those artists (me included) are generally rabid.

I don't think downloading early is a problem, provided you'll stump up the readies. It's like with Ginger's new album - it has a limited release of 1000 to hardcore fans, then goes on general release next year - the distribution fucked up though, so I still don't have it. I was hoping someone would send me the MP3s so I could still listen to it - I'm guaranteed to buy it (it's actually been despatched now), but the early peek does no harm.
