Sorry if this has been covered before but I was listening to Hypergeek this morning on the way to work and I realised it was total "Yes" worship, I mean the 1st riff sounds very Steve Howe-esque and the main body of the track has a very "happy" sound like "We Have Heaven" or something. Sweet "vintage" synth sounds too!
So that's my favourite Synch. track at the mo' for what it's worth ($0.02)

This may very well have been mentioned before, but I really love those "goblin" voices coming in around 0:53 i Vampolka. Cracked me up the first time I heard them, and still do. :)

Firstly, this album is filled with awesomeness. I can't stop listening to it. I find that the best part about the album is that to get to the song you really wanted to hear you really don't feel like just getting there but going a song or two before that and then let it move into the song you were really waiting for. for instance I don't just listen to vampira, I find I have to listen to it's predecessor vampolka to really enjoy vampira...for some strange reason. This is like the first album that I don't mind listening to all the way through. the ones that bother me a bit are rather short and doesn't get to me plus they at least have one cool part in there too that makes it interesting. FUCKING LOVE this record to DEATH! And Vai's solo...good god...fucking amazing with how it just builds and builds and builds and then explodes man! The explosion with no build-up would not have been as sweet though, so they went about it right I believe. Not just for that song but for the whole entirety of the record. Sunshine and happiness might be a conceptually hidden track not in the common terms of what we call hidden, but was completely needed and totally awesome. It's like the feeling I got when I bought the album in a way I suppose...because it was sounding good, I was excited to hear it all the way and basically every song is fucking badass. the synthesizer /guitar harmony for triumph was awesome, and the vampira song was awesome as it began (reminded me of city kinda), and also mental tan kicking into the next song (song name is hard to remember) was fucking awesoem but even better was the one after that going into judgement. it was...NICE! hehe kay I'm done. bye.

but some synchestra tracks should be included into RPG games. mostly not for 360 cuz I only have ps2 now  kthanxbye.

btw, this is the devourer from the syl board. *evil*

to zombielord:

yeah there are a few minor quibbles (if thats the right word). hypergeek is kinda boring but it's short and goes with the next track so for that I love it. This is the album I have been waiting forever for devy to write it seems. and not enough credit goes to the other dude who wrote sunshine and happiness. that song ROCKS MAJOR ASS!

plus, your avatar failed.

Hmmm... As much as I love this album its getting tough to listen to it on a consistent basis. It may be just a tad too happy for me sometimes :(

Still awesome, though... when I'm in the mood.

Much better than Accelerated Evolution. When I heard that this album was going to be a "Devin Townsend BAND" album, as opposed to a solo album, I said "Ehh boy, not again." However, it turns out that this one sounds much more like a Townsend solo album than the last DTB album. There are still a few songs and spots where it sounds more like a band jamming in a garage as opposed to an orchestration, which I don't usually like from Devin, but it's a lot less than on the AE disc. There's much more Terria style creativity here, which is what I was hoping for.

I have a new found appreciation for Synchestra. Not that I ever disliked it on anything. I was expecting a lot of this album and listened to it a lot right after the release. After a while, I was saturated with it, it was a bit of an overdose I think, so I barely listened to it for a while.

But now, it seems to fall in place more than ever (and ever is the past 3 months)! Main factor: the weather. The sun is finally getting out a bit!
It sounds really 'emo' when I say this, but it seems as though Synchestra seems to glow in the sun of early spring, along with everything around us. It's just a better album when the things you see outside look like the cover, bright green with a warm glow. I love it :)

I recently got into pink floyd. and synchestra is kinda like the wall in the way that its better if you should listen to the whole album not single songs.

Yep, when my father listened to Terria he also dared to mention that it was like a Pink Floyd hommage/clone.

I Dont know much about PF, just got the album "Division Bell", and its not my thing
