preferred packaging

Just thought I'd mention how I prefer the Synchrestsa packaging to that of Alien. My Alien case busted easy and now discs keep falling out. Even though the cover art is more exposed, I like the cardboard print.

Death to all digipaks.

The Alien cases were shocking, really really really really really bad. I got a non-digipac (was there even a digipac for Alien?) 2 cd Jewel case, and it was busted up bad. I was still in the store so I thought whatever I'll ask if I can get a new one, 10 out of 10 were broked. Same thing all over Adelaide, almost no one I know got a good one. Synchestra on the other hand was perfect... So in short, I agree the Synchestra ones were better.

Digipaks are preferable in all circumstances to boring jewel cases.

I was so dirty that Alien was not released as a digipak in Australia.

Try taking care of them...

They'll last as long as jewel cases and will look far better the whole time.

i think the alien one came out bad because of century media since they handle syl. nowsynchestra by dtb is better because hevydevy records/insideout and tracy and dev. and we all know hevydevy stands for good quality products and merch. i dont think tracy and dev would put out bad merch for all of us to buy.

side note waiting to get my tax return hope its a good one so i can buy a fucking tshirt(sinister laugh inputted here)

I agree.

Though they are a bit of a liability, they are far nicer to handle. A good fold out digipack is like the CD equivalent of gate fold vinyl.

I'm much more apt to admire the artwork of a digipak.

Digi packs are obviously a bit less durable/non-replaceable, but there is something nice about them in some ways too

exactly you just don't get the same sense of satisfaction with jewel cases

i do take care of my cd's, and my collection nears 300, when people mostly dont bother buying cd's anymore

to me, digipack we're always kinda artsy fartsy, as in you do make a sacrifice for estethics
but in the end what matters, is still the music
jewel case are still a good compromise
i guess it just didnt show enough innovation

I know digi's get hurt easily, but I just don't care. I've got a lot of cd's but I've never really worried about keeping them perfect, and digi's arn't really that hard to keep from being destroyed. A little wear and tear doesn't bother me, and we all know they're pretty... :)
