Hello,

my vote goes to "Alien", for being proper progressive mindfuckery. "City" is obviously kvlt, but "Alien" summons stronger visions in my little mind.

EDIT: shit, I forgot. FIRST POST ON TEH NEW OLD BOARD!!!11

No Sleep for me. It has the best songs and the ultimate SYL-madness vibe.

(I'm going to shoot whoever says The New Black is their fave. It's just impossible)

Jeez, this is a tough question. Why don't you just ask to make a top 5 Devin records all time...

I guess it's The New Black with Alien on a VERY close second place, maybe more like... 1,5 ... or 1,2.
The New Black sounds more like a Devin solo project, which is more to my taste. The solo's on TNB are really amazing, Polyphony is my favorite Strapping 'ballad' and Almost Again is just perfect in my opinion.
I love Alien because of the sheer madness and technical playing.

EVERYBODY GET DOWN, BIERT'S GOT A GUN!

Actually I like TNB too. "Decimator" is tiny nice song like "Far beyond metal", "Antiproduct" has interesting brass/wind/whatever (don't know exact term in English) part, "Almost again" is just pretty and title track is awesome. Good enough for me. I guess most hatred was directed towards "Fucker", wasn't it?

HA... I didn't even read that little line below Biert's post. :P
Well, I think The New Black rocks, so there... Sure it's more 'commercial' than other releases, but there's a reason it's called 'commercial' or 'cliche'; it's because a lot of people like it, and it sells well. I seem to be one of those people :D

The record with Imperial Skeksis Shitstorm on it.
OMFG got it's name when it heard Shitstorm and it went: "Oh My Fucking God, there's something crazier out there!" :D

I voted for Alien, mainly because it was the first album from SYL that I had ever heard, and it totally changed the way I looked at metal.

Can't choose I'll get back to you tomorrow. City has All Hail The New Flesh,
Alien blows faces in a good way, and The New Black is just generally awesome.

My vote goes to City!
In my opinion that album just doesnt have a weak song, and i can listen to it all the time without getting bored with it.
As for the other SYL albums, it just depends on my mood what album i feel like listening to at that moment
