If I was to have NSTB in there, it'd probably be between SYL and HAARHT.

I LOVE Alien, really do...everything about it. But my vote goes for City. Mainly because when it came out it was literally the heaviest thing I had ever heard. And was the only other album from a band other than Opeth that really blew my mind.
It's a classic!. I feel without City, there would have been no Alien. Because there would have been no solid ground to progress from!.

City and Alien seem very similar to me, the difference being that Devy was off his meds when creating Alien. I personally like Alien better because of Two Weeks, Love? Shitstorm, and Possessions. City has some great songs on there, but they pale in comparison to the work on Alien.

Tough. I love them all for very different reasons. I chose Alien because that is the SYL album I have listened to the most.
Kind of curious for me because I really have not listened to any of my SYL albums for a few months. I only recently dug them out and have listened to them. back to back.
The hardest album for me to listen to in one sitting is HAARHT. It's not that I don't like the album but I can only listen to two or three songs at a time before I turn it off or put in something else. It is such an intense and, pardon the expression, insane album. My brain has troubles absorbing it in anything more than bite sized pieces.

I just love how pissed off City is... Alien has more of an "insane" feel that isn't as powerful

Anyway, I can't decide between Alien or City. So, I'll mix them up and make them one! Catalien? Alienity? Alien City...Alien City...Um Ziltoidia!

City, followed by TNB, Alien, HAARHT, and SYL. Dont know why but SYL just seems...not as good. still a great album though.
Besides, every song on City belongs on any SYL "Best of" album. that and Room 429 is one of my all time favorite songs, and by far my favorite cover (100x better than the original).
