As I haven't been in the shows, I can't really comment on the sound side but I do have experiences where a metal band has sounded very muddy and ear pearcing (in a bad way) near the front row, especially if you're a bit too much to the left or right (not the middle). But then when you move back to where the soundboard is, it can sound actually really really good. Just a hint.

Knock-out.

The two hours sailed past in a flash. Damn.

The crowd seemed to really appreciate what Devin is doing with his music - lets enjoy really excellent songs for what they are,but not be too precious or up your own arse about it?

Good too to see he that genuinely enjoyed himself.

Personally I love all of his stuff from The Hummer to SYL. I enjoy the diversity of it all. My wife (who came along too - her 4th metal gig) likened his range and stage presence to David Byrne where you are captivated from go to woe. I would agree.

Please come back,

Cheers.

it was such a wonderful experience, i really felt like my 7 year wait was worth while!
Devin played such a great set with varied songs from all over his back catalogue, i was especially pleased to hear Namaste and Kingdom!

for me, personally, i thought that the sets flowed well. it went through peaks and valleys of style and intensity, giving a great dynamic to the show.
having ziltoid's invasion mid-way through, was just perfect  i loved Dev's humor, He has a wonderful way of keeping the situation light and refreshing.
One thing for me which i really found amazing, was just how spot-on Devin's vocals were  every song just sounded perfect!
it's not often you can go to a 2 hour + set and experience a flawless performance, my fiance (who is fairly new to Devin's music) was amazed, she was also really happy to hear some Ocean Machine in there, too.

Dev, if you read this, i just want to say thankyou for coming down here to Australia and giving us such a great time! :D
you have always had such a loyal following down here and i hope we didn't disappoint.
It was a pleasure to meet you at the signing in Allans and get my copy of Physicist and ziltoid signed.
I hope we get the chance to see you down our way again in the future. you can be sure that you'll always have our support, no matter where your inspiration takes you in the future :guitar:

hows it going, sir? it has been a hell of a long time. I got a chance to chat to mo during the gig and caught up a bit, he's currently helping me out with some pickup hunting (tossing up between blackouts or some lundgrens for my 7 string RG)

Dev had the most awesome showmanship. just the faces he was pulling while playing, it was absolute classic material.
Kudos on getting the shirt up there on stage, he seemed really stoked to get it! :)

we should catch up for a drink some time if you like. i live up around kings cross way (near where they host the carnage metal nights every month)

Im a new fan and only found out about Dev on the wednesday before the show (i know have i been living under a rock or what!!) I only knew a few songs that i had listened to on youtube, but not anything wasnt a problem. I was front row and he put on the most amazing show ive ever seen. I was in awe the whole time and couldnt take my eyes off him. Ive been listening to all his stuff non stop ever since and i will be ready for when he comes back to Oz in the future! (Hopefully sooner rather than later!!)

I also met him at the signing earlier in the day and then again after the show. He is the nicest most humble person i have ever met and he was more than happy to sign anything and everything or answer any questions that fans had. :guitar:

Oh man damn straight, and they got to play with Dev. Its a bit of a shame, as there are many talented metal bands in Australia that could have done a lot better. And they got mixed by him! I think it must come down to Andrew being on full metal racket. It proves that it's who you know.
