I'll be keeping the OP up to date with information. I'll be posting lots of different shows for each of the following months. Please take a look and if you would like to take a white pen and a slipcase to a show let me know, And I'll send you these two items.

July/August/September shows: viewtopic.php?f=71&t=10370&p=273810#p273810

Hey all,
I don't think I need to state how much respect I have for this album, I see the enthusiasm from every post I read. Hopefully this same enthusiasm will see past my poorly written post. I feel the need to create rather fun challenge (or challenge others) in relation to this album. As far as I know, this is the most diverse group of musicians to ever play on a album which makes this challenge even more intriguing for me, and hence, makes this a actual challenge. I've composed a list of musicians who committed a little bit to this album who 'should' have a autograph on the slipcase of Deconstruction. Let me know what you think of this, or if you would like to try and attempting.

I believe this is the proper list...
~ Devin Townsend
~ Ryan Van Poederooyen
~ Dirk Verbeuren
~ Mikael Åkerfeldt
~ Ihsahn (or Vegard Sverre Tveitan)
~ Joe Duplantier
~ Paul Masvidal
~ Fredrik Thordendal
~ Oderus Urungus ( or Dave Brockie)
~ Floor Jansen
~ Tommy Giles Rogers
~ Paul Kuhr
~ Florian Maier
~ Greg Puciato

I don't like the idea of a competitive 'scramble' of who can get the completed signed copy of deconstruction, I think it would be cool to have at least a little healthy competition. I still want something like this to be a mutual community event, not a community deconstruction.

Opinions?

It certainly would be a challenge! I'd have no hope of getting any further than DTP signatures xD

The finished thing would be quite crowded!

Oh jeez, your right. I was only looking on the list of personal on the wikipage. Florian Maier for orchestra (I do believe), I can't place what Mike St-Jean did on Deconstruction... although I know he played drums on Ghost.

I've hit a bit of a speed bump... I was originally planning to see Opeth in October, but it turns out it's 19+ only. Anyone local (Vancouver) planning on going? and possibly wouldn't mind taking a copy of my deconstruction?.. I don't know how long it's going to be before they come around again and I can't go to any of these 19+ concerts til next February (which hopeful won't make any matters worse).

I think it would be rather cute if a trend like this eventually became noticed, "Why are all these people asking me for a signature for Deconstruction" situation.

I'll get myself a nice white permanent marker, and ask to write small

I could probably get Akerfeldt...and that's it :P

But I hate getting CDs signed anyways (I like them pristine!) so I'm out :B

You could just like... buy a tenth copy? or possibly eleven... definitely get a eleventh copy, just in case.

I may just consider sending the album around the world, would anyone be up for that? I figure I'd just send the slipcase and a white pen, I figure I can trust 99% of the people on this forum to not steal a slipcase or a pen. Shipping would be on me. :)

Ok here a bunch of live shows for each of the artists. If anyone was planning on going to any of these shows and would like (or wouldn't mind) to take a slipcase and a white pen, please let me know. Once this is in circulation, I'll try and organize it so i send the slipcase to person A -> person B receives (goes to live show, gets autograph) -> Person C... and so on and so on. I think that's the best way, but for the sake of privacy, I might just get person B to send back the slipcase. Just give me a preference.

Hey, for anyone who can make it - Gojira's doing a signing at one of the festivals they're playing this year; the details are on their Facebook page... it's in Europe though, which means I won't be the one getting Joe's signature. To anyone who's actually taking this (hell of a) challenge seriously though, there's your chance.
