i almost shit my pants when i saw devin's tweet about morgan the other day! been a big fan of that guy for years, and you'd think i'd be getting burned out on devin's music by now but i think i'm more excited for this than i've ever been for anything! :D :D

I think Devin met him through Fredrik Thordendal.

I like him on this vid.

Really hope to hear some drum solo/improvisation on this album with this guy on board.

I haven't heard much about that guy except for Sol Niger Within. I'm curious to hear the man in a mellower context.
Bonerific !

I'd much prefer that, if just to get rid of the acronym CoC.

Well, the only problem with CoC is the possible confusion with Corrosion of Conformity. Though I prefer the full version - sounds cooler. :P

a interview he did on the epicloud tour he said that the more he says "casualities of cool" the more he just wants it to be "Casualities". i fully get what he means. and that acronym just makes me think of corrosionofcomformity

It makes me think of a certain reproductive organ, but maybe that's just my perverted mind.

You have to wonder, if he does go with just Casualties, if the applicable title track will match, or if he'll extend it to the full title.

Wow, Morgan Agren? That is going to be very interesting!

Btw, prog fans, check out Kaipa, Morgan has played on their last six albums.

Seeing how the Devin Townsend Project has supposedly run its course, shouldn't this topic be placed under the Devin Townsend subforum?

Also, changing to Casualties? I have a feeling if he does that, the name will eventually change to something else entirely.

The DTP name has run it's course? Pretty sure not.... I think Dev will keep using it if for nothing else than marketing purposes.

Yeah, I recall him saying the logo was too good. But he's always had a marketing problems with the name changes.

Well, it's hard to market a "brand" so to speak if the name keeps changing-- keeps it from being consistent. I think the logo and pressures from management that I think are well placed will keep the DTP name in place. That, and the title "project" gives a lot of room to do whatever he wants with it, like he has. It isn't pigeon holed to a certain type of music or anything.
