Moonsorrow - V: Hävitetty

I got into this band a few weeks ago after I got a bit more into the whole Pagan/Folk Black Metal genre, picked up Verisäkeet and loved it. But their new Album is even better. It consists of 2 songs that are about 30 minutes long and they are majestic! I read that the first song is supposed to represent ice and the second song is supposed to represent fire...and you can here that. V: Hävitetty (souds cute to my ears, heh) does not get boring at any point and is exciting from start to finish. If you like Folk Black Metal then this is an Album you HAVE to check out.

That myspace page is useless. It's made by a fan and there's no samples or anything.
Here's a little preview of V: Hävitetty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-638XtL75_g

There are also few live and music videos on youtube. (The music video of Jumalten Kaupunki sucks but the song is beyond awesome.)

My humble addition to this wicked hit list. The Blue Garden by Masters of Reality.Hard rock 'Metaldelica' gem. Mystical, classic feel. Has been amongst my favorites since it came out in 89'.

Maybe been mentioned before, but recommending this once more is absolutely justified:

i recommend Sunna's One Minute Science

this one is a little gem, from a band that truly disappeared from the face of the earth...
its a mix, of electronica, grunge, rock and industrial, but it blends well
the album can get athmospheric at times, but it can get heavy as well

anyways, check it out, if your not feeling too metal

Jääportit - Avarrus

Another great release by this Finnish one-man project. It's still Ambient but there's a lot more beats in this one, which actually partly remind me of Autechre's Amber. It still sounds cold as ice but this is definitely an Album that is probably, unlike Uumenissa, more enjoyable while driving through a cold and snowy landscape rather than just relaxing to it in bed. Might sound negative but it's not meant to be...this is definitely a great Album that people into Ambient and electronic music should check out. The only downside is, it's not too easy to get it currently...I had to send money in a registered letter to the Czech Republic to get this. Hopefully that will change soon.
You can find a sample of this Album and other Jääportit songs at this location:

I really, really like Disillusion musically...but the vocals...yikes. Always had problems with their singer. Unfortunately that's a problem with most German bands. Music might be great, but the vocals

I have this, and I agree totally! I didnt think anyone else had ever heard of it. Very dark album, this one. Wasnt the main dude involved with Massive Attack previously? I wonder what happened to Sunna...hmm.

Ah Queen, glad some one else here likes them. About 2 years ago I got ahold of the BBC Queen sessions cd. Great for fans of old Queen fairey Queen... heavy Queen. Quazi live album, their voices dead bang on, they basically do their first album. It rocks.Does Stone Cold Crazy (Sheer Heart Attack) still give any one else shivers? That metal masterpiece is so far ahead of it's time. A Total 2minute face shredder, came out in 71 72'! Brian May, closet METAL master!
