Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Can anyone recommend me some earphones? I want the kind with the rubbery thing at the end and although I want decent (sound- and build-) quality I'm not going to spend a hundred bucks on these things.

I've been looking into these but I have no idea if they're any good: Sony MDR-EX32LP

Since I have Sony(Ericsson) things right now and their sound quality is just brilliant.

I use my Sony MDR-V6 monitor 'phones for everything, so I can't help you with any earbud suggestions. :( The V6s are great though, amazing sound and they barely require any power to drive them... You can use them with a little mp3 player with minimal difference in quality. Also relatively cheap, I got mine for around $90. I think that's the average going price online... You mentioned you weren't looking to spend that much though, so I'll be quiet now. :P

Got the Sony ear things. I'm a bit disappointed, my old ones were better. Maybe I just have to get used to them.

Prokofiev's Toccata in D minor is one of the most evil sounding pieces of music ever written, but I have never heard anyone play it with such ferociousness as this girl does. She makes it sound like a feverish nightmare.

And I have never, ever heard anyone play it in less than four minutes.

the new Album by the band 'The Ocean' is awesome...it's called 'Precambrian'. Awesome Neuoris/Isis/Cult of Luna-type stuff with a neat soundtrack atmosphere. And the Digipak is awesome!

If you're a pure metal head there's nothing to see here!

Fantastic album.

Andy McKee. Acoustic guitarist. Good. No vocals. Doesn't sing. Getting sick of short sentences? Good. Go listen!
His first album is the one I've been listening to most of all at the moment which is called The Art of Motion, but after hearing a bit off his other album Dreamcatcher, I'd definitely say that he's pretty darn consistent at what he does.
It's a nice relaxing change, and his style involves the use of lots of natural harmonics, tapping and playing two things at once on the guitar =P. Definitely for the people who are looking for something to be impressed by and relaxed at the same time.

Well I think I'm about to embark on another musical exodus. I thought the collection I had would tide me over (at least until Devy's next release lol) but alas, I thirst for the aural waves of might and triumph!!! Here's what I'm looking for, if anyone can offer some suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

I like the ideologies of post-rock and math-rock, but I feel the production quality, although usually nice and clean, is too organic and acoustic for my tastes. I would rather it sound more full and electric (but NOT electronic music, you see.) which is why I'm a Devy fan, haha.

I've heard of bands such as Jakob, Sonic Youth, Don Caballero, Mogwai, etc. So if anyone knows these bands they might have a better chance of knowing what the devil I'm talking about.

Thanks guys!

P.S. - I think this all started by wandering around Youtube, these two vids are just two different guys goofing around with delay effects, but I LOVE it, and crave more. So, here's sorta what sparked my little quest here:
