Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I had an idea for another little forum game thing... might be a little bit o' fun.

It's pretty simple. You answer with what your favourite song is by the artist in question - posted by the person before you, and then you ask "Favourite song by ______?", and fill the gap with a band of your choice. YouTube videos of the song you answered with could be cool too.

This way, we get an insight into our forum members' tastes/opinions, could find out about new bands, and are also provided with a decent track to listen to, to check said new bands out.

(Go as obscure as you want... but then there's always the risk of nobody else knowing the band in question... in which case - answer the question yourself and choose a different band)

Okay, lets try this shiznizzle.

Meshuggah - Vanished

The riffs, the solo, the atmosphere of the clean guitar section, it's all good!

Oblivion. Not really a Mastodon fan, but that's just an incredible song.

I'm taking the lake of response as nobody has a favorite Praxis tune. My favorite is the live version of Interworld and The New Innocence:

People say Buckethead plays with no soul, in some cases, I'd agree.

BUT that solo right there is one of the most soulful guitar solos I've ever heard in my life. He really hit the nail on the head with that solo. Not to mention Brain (drums) is tearing it up in that vid. It was crazy, yet very tasteful, and you've got BIll Laswell on bass, creating such a thick atmosphere with all of the effects he uses. It's just a good version of that song! (I will say I like Bootsy Collin's bass solo on the studio version better, but over all, I dig that one a lot.)

Let's try something a tad easier, favorite song by Tom Waits?

Underground. So slow and depressing but still a good song nonetheless.
