We are influenced by bands like Porcupine tree, Aereogramme, Mew, Opeth and Coldplay.

Time to bump this...

There's this small Dutch band that I really like, Colossa. Their selftitled EP is available for free at http://colossa.bandcamp.com/ (if you download per song, for the whole thing you have to pay (1 euro or more).

They sound a bit like Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age and stuff like that. Check it out :)

Free album by Celeste, sludgey and doomey black metallers from France. It's rather good.

There's second free album from them in the address above.

My band Ektoise has a stack of music available for free download at http://ektoise.bandcamp.com

It's very eclectic stuff that runs the gamut from Alternative to Electronic to Ambient to Metal to Drone and everywhere in between.

I have gotten a lot of stuff just from bands themselves. I forgot exactly which ones were free, but i do know of a website some metalheads might like:

http://freemetalalbums.wordpress.com/

Every album on there is free, and legal and stuff. It's pretty good if you have some free time. Other than that some bands that have free downloads that i remember are:

Motionless Battle (nintendo-coreish)
El Scar (genre that is being described as "djent")
Keith Merrow (genre that is being described as "djent" but instrumental)
Bomb the Music Industry (ska)
sleepmakeswaves (post-rock)
Rossomahaar (death metal)
Scott Mosher (progressive metal)

Sorry they're not linked, but a simple google search should suffice in finding the links to these bands.
