Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Frank Zappa is surprisingly good for running. Its humour makes me want to go more.

I tried dubstep during a bench press session, but nearly died when the drop came in. I dropped the bar

:D

You need to start doing the session before the drop. When the drop comes you'll lift the bar with 110% + 1/0 power.

it is my understanding that listening to music while working out is not good as you naturally tend to try to work out to the rhythm of what you are listening to rather than listening to the rhythm your body is working at. If I have explained that clearly. I.e. you are more likely to cause yourself strain by pushing yourself to an unnatural tempo for what you are doing.

Major thread bump. After tonight's listening seemed to just sap my workout energy (could also be something to do with me now being 11 months into 3hrs sleep in a row being a very rare event), so I'm need of some ideas to add to my workout playlist. Any suggestions?

I've always found Kvelertak and Shining to be good running music.
It's even gotten to the point that when I'm out walking, it triggers some Pavlovian response to make me feel like running. :P
