Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I had my Leprosy-shirt on today at work.
One kid noted "look, she has a Lordi shirt! You are a cool sales woman!"

If I remember right that's from either "Symbolic" of "1000 Eyes" I can't remember which one though

I adore Symbolic. Gene's drumming, Chuck's writing... wow. Death introduced me to progressive death metal and one of my all time favourites, Cynic.

I love Death. Their guitar harmonies and tones were amazing, and Chuck wrote some really amazing lyrics. Like most here, Symbolic is probably my favorite.

Did anybody here enjoy his other project, Control Denied?

I thoroughly enjoy Control Denied (I was very happy when I heard the news that they were going to reissue their album).

Control Denied was pretty amazing. I loved hearing his style played with a more melodic vocal. I think I heard that
was more the direction he was planning to head. (Though I hope he wouldn't have given up Death)

Oh man, I should have known..

It's always about the D's, right?

I was blinded with my naive hope of undickified thread.

;D

We could talk about breasts, instead.

Anyway, as I posted to Billy a few days ago, "Human" is lightyears ahead of what was out with it at the time, 1991. So far ahead.

Human is definately one of my davourite DM albums of all time. I was listening to Spiritual Healing last week for the first time in months, and it was baffling how much of it I clearly remembered, even though it's easily my most underplayed Death album (aside from Sound of Perseverance, but that's barely a Death album anyway)

Weird. i thought it was Dan who started that conversation addressing it to youi. Now I see it was the other way round. I suspect you and Dan are actually the same person now.

You know what was a good early album? Leprosy.

Bad riffs, worse songwriting, and vocals all gone to shit. On earlier Death albums there was that feeling of unpredictability, but there were always the heavy, demented riffs.

It may as well have been a Control Denied album, anyway.
