Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

This thread was probably my best idea... or at least my favorite.

Here is a new song from Amon Amarth from their upcoming album.

www.surturrising.com

This is about the best song I've heard since... maybe their last release. TotTG wasn't nearly as good as the three albums before it but AA is AA and they kick ass.

Today sees the release of the following albums (not in all countries though):

Korpiklaani - Ukon Wacka
Omnium Gatherum - New World Shadows

Anyone planning to get either of them?

Omnium Gatherum is an instant purchase -- totally love their music -- but Korpiklaani has been really hit and miss the last few releases that I have to try before I buy with that one. Money is way too tight to be spending it on filler albums.

Definitely Primordial and maybe Wormrot. I just can't seem to remember any others right now.

Well Omnium Gatherum's album has been spinning in my stereo since I picked it up a couple days after release. It is the most impressive album I've heard since Barren Earth's debut full-length. The melodies, lyrics and overall mood/atmosphere is spot on. Just wish the instrumental track wasn't as boring as it is but these fellows never were instrument virtuosos.

Bodom's new release is shaping up nicely:

*edit* And I still cannot figure out how to post youtube clips.

Justin Broadrick will probably release his usual shit-ton of music this year. I greatly anticipate anything and everything that man churns out...

I hope Cathedral's new (and very sadly, last) album gets released this year. They're saying 2012 but it'd be great if it was sooner.

Oh, and Vortex is releasing an album this year as well. He's one of my all-time favourite singers so I'm massively looking forward to that, as well as praying for an Arcturus reunion for more than just a few gigs.
