Dream Theater jumped the shark with second disk of "Six degrees" for me, this cheesy keyboard intro feel like it was two hours long. And "Train of thought" tired me even more with its shredfest and I've lost interest in them recently.

SFAM, on the other hand, has quite a few songs that are wanky, but, oddly, doesn't tire me a tiny bit (I love "Beyond this life" and "Fatal tragedy"). I guess I just don't like when they're trying to be very metal.

-All power metal (except Edguy)
-Children of Bodom
-All the now popular Cork bands that used to be class when nobody knew about them but had publicity go to their heads
-Thornspawn
-Finntroll
-I had a brief spell of liking Tool. I was wrong.
-Evanescence

I could think of more if I had my CDs in front of me.

the worst band in human history

As an Oklahoman, I am deeply hurt that my state would ever claim such dross as their own. And I thought it bad enough that we spawned Colour Me Badd and The Nixons.

Oh well, at least we have The Flaming Lips.

7th son from maiden is still pretty cool

Recently I tried to listen to One Minute Silence again and just didn't dig it as much as I used to.

So over GNR. I can't appreciate Misfits with Danzig or any Danzig (only because we have unfinished fisticuffs) but I listened to Famous Monsters again the other day and it was awesome. Dream Theater sux nad action (hey guitar noobs).

Me too, ToT was by far my least favorite DT album, but I can only really listen to Awake and Image and Words anymore.

And to keep this on topic I does all the nu metal I liked as a preteen count? I cringe remembering that I liked Limp Bizkit at one point, at least I can blame my young age on that.

Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Dream Theatre and Trivium would probably be my most hated bands.. I hate pretty much all thrash and power metal.. Emo pains me severely.. I listened to a bit of The Blackening by Machine Head today, that was pretty shite.. And those two kids in the shopping center who just would not shut the fuck up.. Oh! And Pain of Salvation. I find them to be quite terrible too..

As far as stuff from my own collection goes, any time I hear Pearl Jam I just want to hurl myself in front of a train. Eddie Vedder's voice is like nails down a blackboard for me now.

On the what's-hot-now front, I can't listen to the whining voices of emo bands like Fallout Boy and Panic! At? The* Disco$% or whatever they call themselves. I also have little time for popular American hip hop... someone telling me in broken English how many cars they have and women they've slept with over the top of a cheap sounding drum machine leaves me cold. That said I am quite a fan of bands like The Roots and I like SOME Australian hip hop too.

Sad to say it, but a lot of metal shits me to tears these days too. Thank God for people like Devin!

And hey, my wife met Hinder once through work and they called themselves an old-fashioned rock band! HA!
