i actually kicked my friend when he *told* me the Dark Knight was a better movie than Pulp Fiction.

I kicked him realy hard.

Oh no, no nonono no no no. You got the wrong idea. What I mean here is that they choose not to even watch it even though most my friends are on a steady diet of 1-2 movies a week. I don't give a flying fuck if they don't like what I recommend and I'm certainly not expecting them to like them as much as I did.

for example, if Kivenkantaja tells his friend to watch Apocalypse Now and they never do. yet theyre all geared up to watch Tropic Thunder.

by the way did anyone watch Tropic Thunder? :| it was a shamefully horrible movie. and Rob Downey Jr got an oscar nomination for it  . hes a great actor and i love him but come the fuck on :?

An oscar nomination? He is the only thing thats funny in Tropic Thunder but still... What the hell? :D

Edit: Last movie I saw was Pineapple Express. First half is funny as hell but just like 99% of comedies it gets real bad at the end.

I give it 3,5 crossjoints out of 5

Saw two, both of which are now solidified amongst my favourite films!

Man On Wire - This is the best documentary I've ever seen. The visuals, the footage of all the planning and the event.. The sheer, untamed, unexplainable lunacy of the whole thing. An incredible piece about an extraordinarily crazy and fantastic individual.

Gran Torino - Since January 08 I've seen 4 films that I absolultey adored. Sweeney Todd, There Will Be Blood, The Dark Knight and Gran Torino. If this is Eastwood's last film then by fuck what a way to go out. This film is so outstandingly, unabashedly racist.. Yet it is so.. respectful? I dunno. I came out of it really glad I found out so many new things about the culture of the people that live around Eastwood's character, who, by the way, is one of the greatest characters I have ever seen in film. If you do not see this film you should be hit on the head with a large anvil/grand piano. Flawless.

The Truman Show

I thought it was pretty funny (even though it's not supposed to be) and pretty original. Although when you think about it, it's a similar concept to the matrix.

Quarantine. It was really lame. It was a ripoff of Cloverfield and resembled those haunted hayrides we have around here at Halloween where people jump out at you and try to scare you at every turn.

Max Payne Nothing special here, better than game based movies usually (this one based of game created by Finnish team so that's +++). Olga Kurylenko was foxy, so was Mila Kunis. Maybe 3 out of 5 stars.

Sukiyaki Western Djanko Hilarious moments, maybe bit too long but certainly entertaining if you like todays on purpose made B-movies. 4 out of 5 stars this one.

Do you not think it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too Hollywood? I was fucking delighted at the start when they had it in German, then it became a fucking American War film.. This could have been another epic up there with Downfall and they rightly ballsed it up, in my opinion.

I do however, fucking LOVE Bill Nighy. Man is a legend!

Have you ever seen Downfall though? Having it in the proper language just makes it all the more real. You get a greater sense of "Holy shit, this crap actually happened only 60 years ago..", I think. But then I guess I've been reading and studying Nazis and stuff since I was about 7 so I might have high aspirations/desires for these kinds of films to do their subject matter justice..
