Lakeview Terrace. Better than i expected and was quite intriguing. Kinda disappointed with the end, and i have a hunch the director was trying to be controversial :)

Street Kings - Great cop action/drama flick.
Eastern Promises - Woah...I'll never look at Aragorn the same. Excellent movie though.

I watched these two movies back to back. Go me!

Keeker wrote:Leatherheads - Amusing but lightweight movie trying to imitate the style of the those sparky 1930s comedies. It didn't quite hit the mark though.

In Bruges - Dark, daaaark emotional comedy about two Irish hitmen sent to the town of Bruges for two weeks. The acting was top notch. Some very funny dialogue indeed and some hard and deeply sad moments too. You just kind of knew how it was going to end as the plot unfolded. But perhaps not quiiiite in the way I'd imagined at the end. Very worthwhile movie though. I'd recommend it.

Acrobatic cock muscles. I downloaded Leatherheads after skim reading this post. 5 minutes in and I'm thinking "where the hell are the hitmen?"

Gah.

watched Wall-E and Body of Lies...really enjoyed both of them. Wall-E was really cute and just a wonderful movie and Body of Lies just had a very good story and very good actors in it. Not your typical "we are good and they are bad" movie with Middle Eastern theme.

It's often the way with mega-hyped movies, isn't it...

All the time, I keep laughing my ass off when my friends complain about yet another disappointing visit to the cinema

Death Race car/gun fest this one, and absolute must for Jason Statham fans. Actually bought it without seeing it, bit of a fetish for me these mad max styled car thingies (not sexual in case anyone wonders... :D ).

Good James Bond movie. Very action packed. If you liked Casino Royale you will love this.

watched 'Der Baader Meinhof Komplex' recently and thought it was very good. It's about the German terrorist group RAF from the 60's and 70's and its "rise" and fall. Pretty intense viewing and very well done. Only makes sense to watch it though if you speak German or if the necessary subtitles are available, heh.

I also watched Max Payne and my verdict is......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I just recently watched Grand Canyon in my Cinema class. Aside from the rather annoying and unnecessary use of swearing all the time, the movie was really good. I really liked it. In the beginning, the editing was choppy and uncomfortable, like it was distressful to both the actors and the audience, and it really gave me a feel for the differences between people and how they never try to solve them. But then, as soon as the characters started talking to each other in an effort to understand each other, the editing was much smoother and cleaner and it was less uncomfortable, and everything turned out alright in the end. The movie was called Grand Canyon, at least in my own opinion, because the differences between people creates uncertainty and hatred, and that deep-seeded hatred, or fear, slowly tears us even further apart. But it is also called Grand Canyon because even though our differences can be frightening, if we stop to look at ourselves and connect with each other, we can realize that we really aren't all that different, and that something as simple as a big crack in the earth really is beautiful.

At least, that's what it felt like to me.
