Gangs Of New York

Amazing movie. the film was set on such a massive scale too. the scenery was incredible. Daniel Day Lewis was brilliant as "The Butcher". great battle scenes and a very suspenseful story. all together the cast was so good too. even Cameron Diaz was acting well! :O . Scorcese is a genius. i wanna lick his eyebrows.

Very good movie. I recommend it for everyone.

Yeah that was good. Just really entertaining and suspenseful. And carte blanche for Liam Neeson to go around kicking asss!

I saw that last night, i enjoyed it.
I love it when there is a character who you know is gonna kick everybody's ass.
Thought it was funny when he tracked down the gang and made him translate his note.
"Good luck"
"I told you I'd find you" cue carnage.

I too enjoyed twilight. Already 3 more on the cards, oh and:

So is my niece. :) So am I! Caught a special preview of it on the MTV Movie Awards last night (no, I didn't watch the whole show).

I am counting the days until humanity realises that Stephanie Meyer doesn't even know the fundamental elements the myth of vampirism connotes.
Spoiler alert-I mean, it was very artsy to set the climatic battle scene in a ballet studio with loads of mirrors but you know... vampires have never had reflections in any books I've read... - Spoiler alert. Also she is an entrepreneurial housewife cashing in on a niche by not doing anything particularly talented or creative; just modernising and sexyifying an age-old story. REMIND YOU OF ANY WIZARD-CREATORS OF THE PAST DECADE? Ugh. Why are all the popular contemporary fiction authors so generic and banal. I do want to hear about other subject matters besides lust and fear in novels I read. And those actors in that film. Where on earth did they find such malformed-looking people?

Anyway, watched the Animatrix mini-films yesterday. They were savage, I'm so glad we bought that box set. It was so worth 30 euro for about fifteen CDs of bonus Matrix material; I mean there was a disc featuring making ofs and stuff with each of the films then there was the Burly Man Chronicles and some other things, and then the Animatrix. All absolutely brilliant DVDs. Would recommend to somebody who likes action films which have a vaguely philosophical underlying. What a strange combination.

There are literary fashions like everything else. I have no problem with folks reworking myths and taking them in different directions. That's always happened throughout history. Another ten years and something else will have taken its place. I for one am just happy that my daughter is now reading 'big' books as a result of that movie. It's been good for her.

This ^, I 100% agree with. I was actually surprised at how amazingly entertaining they were. I paid for that box set too. Cos you're impoverished. :P

I watched Snatch the other night as well, which was thoroughly enjoyable! Brad Pitt was brilliant in it, and Brick Top was an obvious gem of a character too. I really liked it, but I don't think it was as good as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Fair fucks to Guy Ritchie though. Two quality films.

I couldn't even stand watching a commercial for it. Anything based off a "young adult" book is like Kryptonite to me.
