Agreed, not sure it was worth a new thread though. :D

You called my name,
Left on a weary road beyond your ways,
May all the other colors of your name,
... go.

Agreed. Moving stuff. You can't beat that atmosphere.

I love ths piece too. I think it has more impact because of the contrast with the rest of 'Trainfire' and because it is quite short.
It's one of the things that make 'Ki' such a special album.

The chorus part in Trainfire may be one of the greatest transitions I've ever heard in a song. Going from a rockabilly vibe to a melodic modern rock type vibe to the following build up bridge took me in the first time I heard it. The build up was so amazing, and then to be brought right back to where we started was such restraint.

Astounding is the word for it.

I can't imagine a way that this song could be any better. The beautiful ending always helps me sleep. (meant in the best way possible)

Completely opposite of Things Beyond Things. Fuck you for that ending, Dev. Seriously.

You can cut it off with any editing program. Besides, it's a great sound to wake up to in the mornings.

This part is very moving. For me, I think it's an amazing contrast to the song. I don't know it's whole meaning, but I believe the song is about pornography and over coming addiction to it (a theme in the song, Addicted). That stuff is very exploitative and demeaning. So, to then have this beautiful voice singing a haunting phrase puts things in perspective, like the difference between something that is real comforting and something that's a weak imitation and raw.

really hoping this part gets a reprise on Ghost (1 or 2). it's too amazing to just leave there for 30 seconds on the end of a song!

I really love that part!
Anyone know where I can find Ché Dorval's music (other than her myspace)?

Frankly, I'd prefer it if it weren't part of Trainfire and was on its own. The rest of Trainfire has such an upbeat 1950s swagger to it, and then towards the end that fun mood is drained by the Alanis Morrisette-y part.

Not saying it's bad by any means, it's just too much of a contrast.
