No. No, he's not. it's between me and Steph. Everyone else... we'll say they don't have a high enough power level.

Devy, spelled Devy! wrote:Kristoffer played on BE, correct? I just checked wiki, it looks like he played on most of their CD's - perfect. I've watched videos of him on youtube, and I'm sold - I think he's great. Plus his playing with Dark Suns was impressive as well - I'm a definitely a fan now. Also, has anyone heard Dial? I read that's what Kristoffer is up to these days.

I have the Dial CD. It's pretty great, but it's not what you'd expect. http://www.myspace.com/thebanddial

:D

I don't even play bass.

Manslave to a girl like you would not be the worst fate in the world. I don't do dishes though.

Nah actually, some pretty cool stuff there.

Listen to the clip posted there for the quarter tones. See what you think...

At least they are trying to do something original. As opposed to other bands who "go back to their roots" aka: "lets make an album that sounds like our old stuff to appease long time fans"

I expected more after reading that writeup. Samples sound like cross between Meshuggah and some typical 90s nu metal, with atonal solos thrown in (maybe they would work better with something other than generic metal riffs).

It definitely sounded more influenced by traditional Indian music. The use of microtones is definitely something you dont hear in metal.

Needless to say, I dig M.A.N's music. It's fun to listen to and from the sound of things it's becoming more and more complex with each release.

Fix'd. You know it to be true!! You play a little guitar, yes? Or am I mistaken? Doesn't matter, I'd take all kinds. I want to get in on Dial. Thanks for the link - you're the person to ask about music, afterall :o

You fail at quoting. And you win at insulting yourself(?).

Devon Graves produced the Dial album.

Score!
I don't suppose he convinced anyone to play a guitar with a bow though. Maybe next time. I've only heard a couple songs so far, but I do like them a lot. I didn't know Kristoffer could sing! :o I just thought he was bass, but I watched some videos on youtube and there he is.... singing. I love it. Hello is a neato song, that one's won me over.

Anyways, yes I like the album. Thank you. :)

I read this yesterday and it really bugged me for a few. They lost their keyboardist and their clean singer. And not to mention how fucking awesome Vortex's clean vocals were, but that is a major hit to the band.

Maybe Vortex will go back to Borknagar though?!

Wow, that's a bit of a stupid move. Mustis and Vortex were awesome and probably the key reasons why Dimmu aren't just unoriginal shite, in my opinion. So now Hestnaes is bandless, seeing as he never did anything after supposedly agreeing to work with Code and Arcturus are long gone as well. Looking forward to his one track on Universal but I can't really see Borknagar replacing Vintersorg. I hope he finds summat soon. He's one of the best singers in metal and a personal favourite of mine.

+1

Although, I only really cared about Vortex...
Mustis was a perfectly cool member, but talentwise, Vortex just stood out so much, in the band and in metal altogether. Amazing singer.
