Goo goo G'joob!

And I have no idea what's up with trhe macho defensive men. It's silly.

Just look at Britain in the 80s. Those guys wore make up, and spandex, and it wasn't gay.

And had the most awesome hair.

I should of grown up then. :(

I know the feeling, seriously.

What's worse it was completely out of nowhere, because I was debating a guy on a subject, and just said "Listen honey, in my experience blah blah blah"

And rather than taking it out on me for the condescending nature of the comment, the dude was huffing and puffing and saying "DON'T YOU EVER CALL ME HONEY" I swear to god I thought he was going to swing at me. That's awfully goofy.

Well it's just not something a guy is used to being called by another guy who isnt hitting on them. Maybe also because it's typically reserved for a relationship type thing.

I've known the guy for a few years, and he's generally a goofy guy.

Also... I hate to bring this up but uh, we live in San Francisco. He's in the wrong city to get that pissed about it.

Calling a dude honey whilst ploughing them is way, way over the line, bro.

hahaha

one day I'll post my 80's pictures. hahahaha.

Although I never wore spandex.

The macho defensive thing is repressed homosexuality. That's why skinheads are so tough and violent but have girlfriends who, uh, also look like men...
When I was a teenager we used to have a game when we were really drunk to dare each other to go up to the meanest gnarliest looking skinhead and ask "excuse me, why are you dressed as a rentboy?"

Didn't pay to be too drunk to run fast when playing that game.

I have met many decent people from isolated places who held views that might be considered racist or homophobic that were purely down to ignorance - they had never encountered people not of their own race, and homosexuality was utterly taboo in their culture. That doesn't make them bad people, just ignorant people. To live in San Francisco and have such a mindset is a different matter.

You can call me honey, you can call me sugar, just don't call me late for dinner.

Lack of internet isn't something to lament too much... but God, it's good to be back.

I cant help but wonder why so many people will defend Dream Theater and Petrucci to the grave. Am I missing something here? I just dont understand the whole Dream Theater worship.

It's a matter of personal taste, I quite like their work up to Scenes From A Memory. I (so far) do not understand the whole Between The Buried And Me worship, perhaps I'm missing something?

Hm. It's mainly because they mix a lot of things together in one and compose well written music that goes from intense metal passages to folk influenced segues with flawless transition.

Mmkay, but I was merely making the point that tastes differ. Dream Theater is not everybody's cup of tea, nor is Between The Buried And Me. That's all really.

I absolutely understand. There are far too many bands that I like that most of my friends cannot stand.
