^ Well, it certainly has me looking forward to Iron Man 2.
Iron Man 2 is definitely fun, but it does lack that thematic substance that made Iron Man great. Just forewarning you.

Agreed - good movie, but here's hoping they lift their game with IM3. Mickey Rourke, however, was outstanding. I half expected him to say to Tony Stark, "That's a mighty fine suit you're wearin'."
Saw Inception a couple of hours ago. Haven't thought about much else.
Classic.
Classic.
Saw... you guessed it... Inception. it was a great movie but it wasnt as good as everyones saying it is. definitely worth a watch. predictable in parts. i found alot of paralells between inception and the matrix.
the hype with this movie is like avatar, avatar was crap though. this however is definitely not a classic

It seems to me that big chunk of people who really adore Inception tend to think very highly of themselves, you know what I mean? It's a great "I'm smarter than you"-movie.
That is bullshit imho you don't need as big a brain to understand it as i'm sure you all have heard people saying.
No, it's just a well done science fiction movie that doesn't feel the need to hold your hand through the entire thing. Is it amazing? No, but I still loved it.

My thoughts exactly.

EDITED OUT CUZ I'M A DORK AND I GOT THAT WRONG
I genuinely love cinema, and I liked that I didn't have to have the ins and outs of dream technology explained to me.
Ellen Page's character had some inconsistencies, sure, and Leo's looking like an old manboy but that doesn't detract from a very interesting heist movie. More heist and less sci-fi
I'm diggin' those glasses Cody. You're like the Dude...or "Terry" on True Blood.
I just sat through Dragonball Evolution.
Why oh why did I bother?
I was warned that it was unbelievably fucking poor, which is why I was intrigued to see exactly how bad it is.
Swervedriver, I blame you for everything.

Oh, dear God, I rented that hoping it'd be so bad it's good, but it was just... just... That movie
was bad. Shame, too, I loved Dragon Ball.

Definitely not as complex as some people have made it out to be, that's for sure.
I've seen a bit of the opposite also - people getting very upset at those who love Inception, almost personally insulted that anyone could really enjoy it. It really does polarise people. Fuck it - I love it and that's enough for me.
I'll be buying the Blu-Ray version when it comes out, but good luck to those who didn't enjoy it as much as I did.
Hotel Rwanda. It's very inspirational.
Always wanted to see it but never have...

I agree until the Blu-Ray part, but that's because I just don't see myself ever getting one of those. Maybe if I get a better pay increase.
There's an idiot in my office (I have mentioned many times, but he keeps giving material) that falls under the extreme hate for the movie. My guess is that he didn't get it or didn't like the ending, plus he is the type that likes everything spelled out to him. Understandably this film is quickly becoming under threat of being overrated, but that won't change that I still loved it; those who found it ok at least have justifiable reasons. At least it wasn't in 3D.
Speaking of which, saw Joe Dante's The Hole (in 3D - like everything else these days). Probably his best horror-comedy since Gremlins 2.
This was eerie and atmospheric, while being fun and making good use of the medium. The cast was largely unknowns (though Bruce Dern makes a quirky appearance, and Dick Miller has a cameo), and this made it more believable, as all played their parts well.
Story-wise it was interesting (a mother & two sons move into an abandoned house, the boys find a trapdoor in the basement, and discover a gateway to a hellish dimension that feeds upon one's fear), although it eventually became reminiscent of Poltergeist with psychological thriller thrown in. That's not to say it went bad, it was still engrossing, but the parallels were there.
Naturally with Joe Dante at the helm, the thrills were like eating frozen chocolate: addictive and sometimes chilling. He gives a great visual style while building suspense, and his monsters deliver in their own unique way. Coulrophobics should beware. 7.5/10.
