Do you do anything to stop it?

Wouldn't want to.

The more you think about something, the greater chance you have of understanding it, if it's capable of being understood.

Im tired of my mind going the same loops over and over. I don't feel like I reach anything with it doing so, it just drains my energy, it is frustrating. And understanding is a part of the loop - I understand my thoughts and they go away. Then they come again later and I have to understand them again or they wont leave. I've understood them way too fucking many times. I want to do something else for a change than understand myself.

The more you understand, the more you realize you truly know nothing. That's the real problem, but that's an unrelated point.

It's irritating when that "looping" situation happens to me. Usually means there's something about that particular thing I'm thinking about that is unresolved. If they keep coming back, that probably means that you don't comprehend it as well as you think.

All I can say is in my experience you just have to tough it out, & eventually the answer to whatever it is you're struggling with will come to you on it's own. No way to shortcut it, really.

Sucks, but hey, such is life.

That' life - THATS LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

But srsly, I know there's something I don't comprehend about it or maybe it just is something I cannot ever control but talking about it is part of trying to understand it. Understanding is part of the loop but I think I have to understand the whole loop in a new context and that will inculde the sub-understanding and maybe then I will resolve it or learn to live with it.

Precisely.

But, then again...what happens if you finally comprehend all the loops & sub-contexts, only to find that the answer opens up even more questions than you started with?

Hence the nature of the loop, & why it keeps going 'round & 'round.

The ultimate "understanding" of the loop is when you realize you sustain it by trying to understand it.

After all, accepting that you cannot understand something is in itself a way to understand it, as you understand that you cannot understand it. :D

Ultimately it will probably only be solved when you accept that you probably can't solve it.

Of course, I don't know the nature of this problematic thought you have, so I can't properly make a judgment as to whether it can be solved. But then again, it's you who have to solve it, not me. But how can you solve something that cannot be solved..?

And it thus goes on & on...

Probably.

But it's not with just one thought, it seems to happen with alot of stuff actually.

I don't think reaching this "upper level of understanding" would necessarily bring more questions to solve, and even if it would that wouldn't necessarily be a problem, if my current problem - which is the looping of my thougts - would stop.

Got some questions that I thought I'd ask here (to guitarists, or more particularly, fans/owners of 7 string guitars).

The 6 string guitar I have now is 25.5" scale. If I were to get a 7 string guitar, would you recommend sticking with a 25.5" scale, or getting a 27" or even 30"? (Does the longer scale offer better tone or somethin'?) (< 7 string n00b alert)

How much extra should I expect Agile to add on for a custom guitar? (if anything at all...) (Even if it's just "This guitar, but with this finish instead")

(@ Dan, was yours a custom Agile?)

^ Basically, I love some of the finishes on the 8 string guitars on the website (mainly the natural/wood ones)... like this, but with 1 less string, would be perfect:

And what about buying from the UK - Would I get a freakin' customs charge added? I know the guitars are pretty cheap anyways, but I hate how it comes out of the blue. I once ordered a CD from the US, but when it arrived at my local post office, royal mail wanted me to pay them an extra £15 for customs before I could receive it. (That's more than the CD itself...) (I refused, and left it with them to send back to America, and bought it from somewhere else instead).

My 6 string Fender just aint cuttin' it for mah metulz anymoar. Need a new beast in my hands, for reinvigorated inspiration.

...maybe I should just get that 8 string... *ponders* :P

You'd be certain to get customs tax on it. They'd value it, then charge the fuck out of it. It's ridiculous. My christmas present turned up a month late, cause customs was all "Hey Imma open this package, check out how much its worth, then not give you it til you pay us" despite paying extra to ensure delivery on the fucker in the first place.

so be prepared. :P

As I was listening to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, I realized the best ideas come from William Shatner's refrigerator.
