Finished Assassin's Creed 2 and now about 2/3 through Brotherhood. Feels like it's halfway between dlc and a sequel. But I am playing it straight off AC2 so it just feels like I'm playing the same game, with some cool new toys. Although the crossbow sort of renders my old fave weapon, the throwing knife, redundant.

Great fun.

I've been meaning to get AssBro, but I haven't yet because I'm hoping the edition with the Da Vinci DLC will drop in price soon. Right now I could buy 3 regular AssBro games for the price of one+DLC, which is very skewed.

I picked both AC2 and Brotherhood up 2nd hand in the US so I didn't pay much. For an impulse holiday purchase they've been utterly engrossing. I think what I almost love more than anything else is the atmosphere. The music is some of the best I've ever heard in a game. And those little touches, like wandering up a grassy hill and listening to a group of people innocently sitting around on the ground, sharing wine and a few apples as the sun sets... I just don't expect that level of care from a game. Just beautiful.

And I've become a real tight arse when it comes to games as we have an extra mouth to feed in 2 months so I sure as hell don't begrudge you looking for a bargain!

Looking to perhaps buy the full version of TrackMania. Or perhaps TM2, although I don't know whether my laptop will like running that. It's brilliant to play though, and I can only imagine the fun and frustration of online play. Anyone here have any experience with TrackMania?

Haven't played the last one but GTA IV is quality. And RDR is one of the best gaming experiences I've had in my life. Such a fantastic game. I'm jealous of you. I wish I could go back in time and play that game all over again. Granted, that would be a ridiculous waste of a time machine but y'know...

picked up Dead Island for my Xbox 360. Seems to be not the best looking game out there and is a little glitchy but I liked it so far. Only played it for about an hour though. But this should satisfy my zombie smashing needs untill Dead Rising 2: Off the record gets released.

That game is so addictive!I haven't played in ages though because my old laptop was super crummy and barely ran it, but I was looking to get a full version too. I haven't played any online yet but I'm in the process of downloading TM Nations Forever through steam, it's free but I think paying for United Forever would be a solid investment. Since TM2 is going to be a series of games in itself, I think I wanna see where that goes before I buy it.

RDR really is an amazing game. I´ve only played about 50 % of the story mode so far, but it´s probably of the best games i´ve ever played. Maybe it´s not fair to compare, but much superior than GTA IV imo.

The level of attention and detail put into the game is just insane and unlike anything i´ve seen before. The other day i was close to a river looking for some beavers that i needed for a misson. I couldn´t find any, but while i was searching, i saw an armadillo walking close to a dirt path so i thought i´d hunt it and sell it in town for some extra bucks. So i proceeded to reach for my gun when i suddenly see the armadillo stopping in its tracks and dropping dead. I was just so surprised...what could have happened...so i get close to the little corpse and as i approach i hear the sound of a rattlesnake hiding in the bushes.... appears that the rattlesnake was hunting for food and attacked the armadillo as it walked by...!!!

That might just be a small detail, i don´t know anything about programming so maybe it´s a piece of cake to do something like that in a game...but it just blew my mind. It really gave me the feeling that i was playing in an alive enviroment, where live goes on even when i´m not around.... amazing i have to say.

By the way, how did you played the game? As an outlaw or as a law abiding citizen? I´ve read that there are sustantial changes in people behaviour and happenings in the game depending on your honor and fame level, so if you want to play the game again and get a different experience, maybe this could be a chance..?

So far i´m trying to be nice and fair to everybody, as my mama taught me.... ( there has been some innocents being shot, but it was an accident...i swear...)

after about 10 hours of playing Dead Island I must say I'm really digging it. Yeah, it ain't perfect by any means. It looks outdated, the gameplay has its flaws and the side quests are kind of as diverse as the ones in Borderlands...so not a whole lot. Speaking of Borderlands. I'd say Dead Island borrowed a lot of ideas from that game. Dead Rising and Fallout 3 also influenced it greatly, I would say. Although it does not reach the class of Fallout 3, of course. But so far it's been fun. The world is huge and there's tons of stuff to do, many areas to explore and the campaign itself seems to be lengthy too. After about 10 hours I got over 40 quests done and only finished the first act of the game. I think there's 4 acts.

That's exactly what I got from reviews, and why I bought it too.

oh and also. To everyone who owns both Xbox 360 and PS3 and does not use his PS3 much for gaming because of the gamepad and stick layout...help is on the way. There will be several gamepads for PS3 released over the next weeks that have the same stick layout as the Xbox 360 does. One PS3 controller from Speedlink even looks exactly like an Xbox 360 controller. But be cautious and make sure the controller actually has any sort of motion sensing technology included or you won't be able to play most PS3 exclusives such as the Killzone games.

here's one example
http://www.amazon.com/Batarang-Wireless ... 443&sr=8-1

a friend of mine actually will get this one as he does not like the regular PS3 controller at all, heh.

I prefer the ps3 controller for the D-Pad, the xbox 360 d-pad is just horrible.
Especially for fighting games.
