Bruce is involved in it. I'm a little uneasy about the plot but who knows? Could be good...they could totally bollock it up though...

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are producing it though, aren't they? I'm sure they wouldn't put any money into that project if they weren't comfortable with it. And Robert G. Tapert is on board too. So I'm really not too worried.

Coincidentally I watched Army of Darkness again just a few days ago.

Oh yes. That's why I do have a little bit of faith in it. The only thing that concerns me is while the original films were pretty tongue in cheek and the effects where ridiculous; it was still pretty fucking scary (the scene where Linda's decaying body is prancing about all stop motion in Dead by Dawn shits me up a bit), and I fear if they go the whole generic, realistic, modern style, it'll be ruined. If that makes sense...it's not a CGI vs. practical effects argument, they could still bollock it up with practical effects.

ever since I've seen Drag me to Hell and 30 days of night I'm not too worried about horror movies that Raimi either directs or is involved in otherwise. Same goes for Bruce and his recent stuff. I think they both still got it in them. And if the director doesn't fully deliver and Raimi and Bruce aren't satisfied during post-production then I'm sure they'll step in and fix things up.

The Thing 2011 prequel. I'm great fan of the 1982 Carpenter version, actually it was very first movie I've seen on VHS when we got our first player. At the time there was very strick cencorship law in Finland called video law and movie was cut pretty bad, fortunately things have gotten better and 1982 version is in my collection (BD and uncut glory). So naturally I was bit reserved about this version, but actually it's not that bad at all. Not masterpiece but still unveils background story quite nicely. Biggest minuses come from ending, they still have left opening for sequel... No wait, Carpenter version does that too  Oh well, at least the transition to 1982 movie was done bit clumsy way. So better than expected, some nice creature effects to boot.

Then I would advice not to watch The Crazies, it probably would ruin your day

I liked The Crazies. It was a bit slow in parts, and had a bit too much CG towards the end, but it wasn't terrible. Those scenes in the hospital were awesome.

Zardoz in my Science Fiction class.

Has anyone else seen this movie? Because dear god... awful. An hour and a half of Sean Connery running around in red underwear getting caressed by hippies. Yeah.
