Mike Patton entered my mind when I listened aswell....hmmm great minds think alike...sorry, bullshitting myself. I heard some Devin Townsend sorta stuff in there also, or maybe it's just me.

This is my first time ever hearing Pain of Salvation, great stuff by the way. After listening to the first track I thought whoever posted it must have gotten confused and posted a Clawfinger album.

Ehh... I kinda like the different sound, but the rap-style vocals coupled with the ridiculous quantity of profanity are a serious turn-off. I mean, SYL can pull profanity off; this is just stupid though.

My freind is enjoying it a lot. He loves Miss Modern Mother Mary and Kingdom of Loss. They are great songs. Enter Rain and Idiocracy are also great songs. My freind says he can't wait to buy this CD and get into the concept.

I'm not a fan of the album (probably wasn't a good spot to start with PoS?). I might like the rap part if he didn't also try to make stereotypical rap lyrics to go along with it.

the whole idea of rapping IS the stereotype and stereotypical rap lyrics.
But yeah, you should pick a better album like Be or The Perfect Element to start with POS :P

All of Pain of Salvation's stuff is good, extremely. But I'd NEVER tell someone to start with BE. Thats plain sadistic!

The Perfect Element was what stole my virginity with those guys, but Remedy Lane would probably be a better (cheesier) place to start.

This album is terrible; even worse than the turdfest called Be.

You can't possibly be telling him to start with BE? that album is so far from the usual PoS sound!

The Perfect Element on the other hand, I very much agree with. That, or the first I heard, Remedy Lane.

This is a bad intro to PoS. Go get Remedy Lane, its their best and most accessible album by far

first PoS album i ever listened to a piece of: Remedy Lane.

Spent years HATING PoS and thinking it was just some random more or less prog band.

Listened to one Be track as soon as my friend sent me. Got the whole BE. Thought it was the most absolutely well done and coolest concept album ever made. Listened to the albums backwards from that, love their music now.

I have no idea of why people should start with Remedy Lane

But then again, i was a big big prognerd :P

That sounds really strange to me, 'cause I really think BE is the "least" PoS album of them all. It's like a whole other band to me, I barely see the resemblance...

But by all means! Whatever floats your boat  it's not like I'm the encylopedia of metal :P
