Hello everyone... thought to make a first post and say greetings to everyone here. There must be something good in every person who is in some way receptive to, and liking, Devin-music...
Like for i think many others, the first song for me was Earth Day - loud in the backseat of a friend's car, during endless drives at cold dark nights around autumnal finnish countryside... never before had i known that music could be so massively heavy, intensely beautiful and directly emotional, all at once. First blew my mind on Terria, then AE with the Drum Sound and Storm and Deadhead, strangely disconnected but still down to the point. By Synchestra I was completely immersed in just those two records, awaiting for the forthcoming Sunshine Metal that it truly was. Spring came early here last year, and there were long walks with headphones, sun and melting snow all around. Drifted on the heavy side with Alien, lately connecting to the sweet chaos of earlier and newer SYL material. This fall spent mostly with the chrome spaceship, Kingdom on prescription twice a day... oh my god. I bet my neighbors downstairs really enjoy Gene's footwork...
Really, Devin's music has certainly given me lots of inspiration and great moments, both for my own musical dabblings, and for my personal up and downs lived through listening. And in the end it's still but throwaway... but nothing bad about that. Sorry if my writing is strange, it's been a long day and it's hard to verbalize the frequencies with my english...
The best for you - us - all, and respect to Dev himself. And everyone. Yeah... Oh, yes, from Finland, playing guitar and other things, reading and writing and listening and generally wondering around. Great!
welcome to you!!! please dont feed the animals
Just writing a quick hello before I'm off to bed. I'm Hughie's fiance, Christina. He introduced me to Devin when we first met, about 7 months ago, and I've been listening to him ever since. Only now have I got the courage to join such a wonderful community such as this (with a little starter push from Hughie of course).
Hughie actually bought me the Hummer for Christmas and I'm so excited to listen to it!
