Blood and Gold by George RR Martin (Brutal book; yes, a brutal BOOK)
And my iPod has just broken as have my earphones. So I'll need to splash out on a repair and some more earphones too. :x

My iPod broke recently too. The hold switch is always on even if the button isn't, so it's essentially unusable. I think there's an Apple repair place in town somewhere, but I'm not sure if they do iPods, they might just be a Mac place... :x

I bought $200 worth of body jewelry this week, only paid about $160 though. I'm a sucker for shiny things, it seems. Last splurge for a long time. It seems like a lot of money, but I just bought a lot of $2, $3 things and a couple of upscale pieces.

Now I gotta save my money for my trip to see them too. Sucks not living in the city anymore, nothing comes to you.

Most agreed. I've tasted life in the country, and while there were times I enjoyed the isolation, I like city accessibility too much to leave.

I got my own 360 recently too and apart from work, I've hardly left my house for for a month.
Probably shouldn't admit to this.

A new sound system, something like a Yamaha CD player and amp, with Focal speakers. Getting it installed on Thursday, so Alien's going to get the sub it deserves!

A new tin opener. Didn't realise how blunt the other one I had was. Then I sat and figured out it was 21 years old so that probably explains it. :P

Sony TX5. Haven't actually bought it yet, it's on hold for me at the local electronics store because I have to work all weekend and they only had one left.

I've never actually owned my own camera, so I can't decide if getting such an upscale one is a good idea or not. Well, it's just a point-and-shoot but it's costing me twice what I originally wanted to pay, and that's after cutting a deal at the store. The only downsides are it's only 10.2 megapixels (although that's a heap better than the old cameras I've been using) and apparently the battery life isn't amazing, but it comes bundled with a free second battery so it should be alright. It does have a cool panorama function, it senses your smile and does a bunch of other crap. It's also shockproof (so my clumsy ass can't break it five minutes after taking it out of the box) waterproof, dustproof, and according to this video, you can freeze it in a block of ice for a week and it will still work fine.

So if you ever climb an icy mountain and wind up facing a yeti that poses a great deal of threat, take a few snaps with the comfort of knowing long after your demise, the evidence can be thawed.
