It's a great instrument. Got myself a 12" one on the cheap a coupla months ago, but I couldn't get it to sit comfy. Then I tried a friends 18 and it all made sense.

Found the one I've got on ebay for about £20. Only issue is, it's got an Ulster print on so I feel a bit weird about it being, like youself, Scottish.

Whereabout are you from dude?
