I should hopefully have it in my hands by the end of the week. I'm excited! I've been wanting a 7-string for years, and though I plan on getting the Devin one when it is released, I wanted one that was a little more functional and closer to the guitars I am used to playing. I was thinking about getting a purple one, but this one just grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. I may like to play metal. but I like my guitars pretty, too. It is the first new full-size electric I have bought in 15 years. Devin's will be "myyyy preciousssss," but this one will be my workhorse.

I've got the playing bug again, big-time. Now I'm off to storage to dust off the amp! Man, not playing seriously for so many years has caused me to lose a lot of my skills. I listen to old tapes of myself and am amazed at what I used to do, and it wasn't even that great. lol

When I decided I wanted to start playing again I strapped on my guitar and set everything up like I used to, but nothing felt right. I'm almost having to re-teach myself. It is an odd feeling. I had to adjust the height I wear it, how I hold a pick, how I angle my wrists, etc. It is fun again, though!

Anyway, I'm rambling. I'm just so stoked! :)

That is one sick axe. How did you find the baritone scale the first time? I remember thinking "my hands are tiny" after the first play of my 7-string.

I've never actually played a baritone guitar before, so this will be a tad different experience for me. I was going to go with the standard neck, but I decided that if I am going to re-learn guitar, and I want to do a 7-string, then I'm going to go with a baritone scale. I ordered this guitar without ever playing it, so I may be sending it back if it doesn't work for me. lol I've never bought a guitar I haven't played before, so I made sure to check with Rondo music about their return policy. Of course, I am going to order the Dev guitar when it is released without playing, but that will be more of a collector thing. Though if it plays great, I'll probably play the shit out of that, too. lol

I used to play a little bass back in the day, so getting used to the new scale shouldn't be too distressing. I hope. ;)

Mind if I ask where? In a chain store or indie record shop, I haven't looked yet but I'm hoping JB-Hi Fi which stocks Ki and Addicted will stock some form of set.

JB Hi-Fi. I'd been looking both there and in indie shops, but found it there first. Quite The Fluke, really.

Dang. I really do take living in England for granted when it comes to music.

I pre-ordered that ^ online from HMV ('Sanity Music' in Aus?)... basically the biggest, most popular record store chain in the country, for £13.99, and received it on the Saturday before the release date...

Animals As Leaders colored LP w/ 3D artwork

I bought it on vinyl almost entirely for the big/3D artwork. I've loved the album since when it hit the market, just hadn't got to buying a legit copy til now.

Picked up a Sigma 28-70mm lens with Macro for my Sony Alpha for $70 today. (Used, but works). Went to the guitar store on a lark, and saw a very nice Aria Dreadnought for not even $500. I thought, "That's not right...." It was LISTED at $1200, but was marked down 66% due to scratches. WHich I can hardly even see. So, yeah, I had to pick it up!

Damn it's getting late and my Decon package hasn't arrived yet. I'm getting nervous.

This thing looks awesome. Price looks great for such a nice feature set as well. If only they were available locally - guitar's pretty much the last thing I'd buy online. Or maybe I'm just good at finding faulty ones when trying to buy one in store.
