When the hell is their album coming out? Pretty soon it will no longer be early 2010...

They're probably just taking their sweet time and using the "Ye waited years for this, sure you can wait a few more months..." excuse.

Acle told me personally that it's all label BS right now. Their album has been done for about a month or so, just getting paper work and such sorted out...

The new TesseracT singer suuuuucks and the production is WAAAAY too polished to the point where the guitars sound horrible. and the drums of course are overcompressed. They sound like The Fray if they played heavy metal

Because bands like The Fray have about 5+ layers of different guitar work going on at some points...

I was making a comment towards the production...

I like the production. Singer's nothing great, though.

Really disaapointed in the direction they took with the singer.
Will reserve judgement on production until I get to hear the album proper.

listen to it. it doesent jump out at all. the mix is far too clean, losing its heaviness, the guitars arent very metallic at all and the vocals have definitely been processed. compare it to the demos from 2007 for example and they sound far edgier and heavier.

If lots of layers make it sound like shit, you shouldn't use lots of layers. Period.
Production is way too poppy, they don't sound like a metal band at all. And the singer sounds like he should get some wider underpants and join Killswitch Engage.

I liked that Lament track that was floating around about half a year or so ago but that new one sounds like garbage alright. They remind me a bit of Karnivool, but not good... That vocalist is stupendously annoying, as well. Maybe if you listen to them in one ear and rub gravel into the other it might balance out.

Yeah "Lament" is great, this one a bit less. If nothing weird happens I'll see them in a few days and rate if their singer guy sucks live.

It'll be interesting to see how it all comes off live, yeah. Obviously there's no way they can sound as polished as they do on the record...

The mix has to be clean. When you're working with layers you want a majority of them to be heard so the music sounds much larger. Granted, Acle and crew could use some pointers from Dev on producing music with many layers.

You have listened to Addicted right? Dont give me that about layers.
