Before I post it, I'd like to just check with the forum officials whether I'm allowed to or not. The song is already out there on Zilts myspace, but I cant be sure exactly what the rules are on spoilers.

It's all ready. And if I havn't got it wrong then there's a weird surprise.

Oh and in case anyone is wondering, I did tab it out from the myspace version.

I havn't submitted to the evil torrent just yet.

The Force is strong in this one. We must do what we can to keep him from turning to the Dark Side.

I betcha that sucked. Isn't the playback position bar on the myspace players disabled?

Heh good point. That would be a pain in the ass to do. Altough the sonog isn't very difficult. Very nice heavy metal riff :P

Seeing as how the song has technically been released, I dont see why not

You need a hell of a lot of gain to pull this song off as the main riff is based around natural harmonics.

Someone tell me if this is wrong because I'm sure there must be an easier way.

The notes for the harmonics are D, D# and G, and to get the D# I had to tune the 2nd string (that would normally be the highest C) all the way down to G#.

Harmonics are in brackets.

Sorry about the crudeness of it, I'm not very good at writing tabs on here.

Like I said, there's got to be an easier way but I couldn't find the D# harmonic anywhere. Well here it is!

I'm sure anyone can put these together into the right order to make the song.

And yes it did take alot of patience. As far as I can tell, BYC is also in open C, but I havn't got a couple of weeks to sit listening to the same song over and over.

Although I wouldn't complain.

This looks really nice.
To be honest, I think he uses pinch harmonics to get the sound, which would require a normal open C tuning, and no G# in there.
Otherwise it looks pretty cool, the intro could be spot on. Oh, next time you write down a tab, use the "Code" brackets, that way it looks a little bit better and every character is aligned in the same way.

Keep up the good work!

Well the notes do sound like harmonics, and to play the fretted notes would require 7" long fingers to play them around the 12th fret. It all seems a bit of a mystery really. Maybe if Dev could clear things up....? Or Tracy could find out and let us know?? This is gonna bug the hell outta me now!

Maybe Dev just layered the harmonics as a seperate track....

PINCH harmonics, dude. They're not fretted notes OR the kind of harmonics you're talking about.

It doesn't sound quite like pinch harmonics, though. Plus you'd have to have an insanely quick wrist to be able to pull them off and make them sound fluent-- Not to say Dev isn't capable of it, but I'm just not sure if it's possible to make pinch harmonics sound like that. Natural harmonics tend to have less of the 'pick' sound from my experience, more of a lighter, easily played sound if that makes sense.

I dunno, I could be wrong, that's just how it sounds to me.

EDIT: Also, pinch harmonics are technically fretted notes, in that you are holding the string down on a fret to play them. :P

This looks like crap, I know, but this is how I've been playing the verse.

Sounds close, I think. I play all the notes on the fourth and fifth strings

using pinch harmonics. It's kind of tricky with that stretch between the

third and eighth frets, but that's typical Devin, right? :)

Forgive my crappy tab, but I'm sure you'll get the idea :D

Definitely pinch harmonics. Not hard to pull them off in this song...but it would definitely be difficult to nail them AND play the main rythym guitar as well. Those are two seperate guitars. Well, more like a couple dozen seperate guitars since this is Devin afterall.
