Hey guys im new in the forum and since this is my first post i thought i could start with something that's making my mind go around in circles...

The solo Devin does on the track "Ziltoidia Attax!!" i have no idea how he does the guitar sound like that, i think he kinda uses the same technique on "Wrong Side" but im kinda of a noob so i dont know how to reproduce something similar on my guitar, i think tabbing should kinda hard but any info would be cool! thanx


edit: when i mention worng side im talking about the solo! not the sweeping

All I know is it's called "Sweeping". Search for that on the interweb and also take a look at the "Great Average Guitar" video that's posted elsewhere on these forums.

And, of course:

It sounds like he could be using a whammy pedal, but I can't really say for sure. That solo is wacky and all over the place. Obviously that's what Dev was aiming for, pure wankage, but it makes it hard to figure out!

Dev said his major guitar skills are sweeping and tapping so it's probably a hell of a lot of that.
