We tried metal but it didn't work, so let us in on the punk rock dough!

Just got back from a road trip to New York. I saw Mr. Big play an amazing two-hour set on Tuesday, really didn't have any plans for Wednesday. I was thinking about going to see Cinema Titanic, aka the Mystery Science Theater guys, doing a live show at the Best Buy Theater, but it turns out that was scheduled for next month.

So I ended up going to see Spiderman: Turn off the Dark.
As I was watching it, I couldn't help but think how cool a stage production of the Punky Bruster album would be.
I use to think it would make for a cool indy movie musical, but I think a live show with the band center stage, with the storyline playing out around it, would really translate well to the stage.

I don't know what kind of crowd it would draw, but I'd go.
